I know there are more brown pow lovers on this site, yah there is pinkbike but lets be honest, newshcoolers is wayyyy cooler. so lets posts our rides, questions about components, mechanic questions etc in this thread.

I just bought this beauty and i definitely sacrificed uphill capabiltiy in order to get a beefier dh/park bike. id been on a nomad for a while and it's a huge switch in riding styles for me. definitely getting used to the weight and having to keep speed a lot more.

specs for said beauty, 2011 rc2 dh totem, 2012 dhx rc4, highrollers front and back (gona go dhf front and highroller in the back), mtx 33 wheel set, slx brakes, diablous cranks, FSA 760mm Handlebar, Shimano SLX Shifter & Shimano Deore XT Derailleur.

GanjeigolizadehComponents on the trail bikes seem alright, not the highest end but not the lowest either.

I’m thinking more for my first road bike (have a commuter and a trail bike right now). Posting here because bikes


Much easier to go used for road bikes than MTBs. A lot more affordable options too. A lightly used road bike can go for almost 50% less than a new one if you look hard enough. All the new MY19 stuff is coming out/already out so you should be able to find clearance stuff too.

I'd look for a used road bike with some R6800 or any 11sp version of 105. Can't go wrong with either.

.MASSHOLE.It's amazing how few 2018 Scott Geniuses there are available for sale. I knew that they sold out quickly last year, but I figured at least a few would pop up for a nice discount given that MY19 are starting to come into the US.

I asked almost every shop around and not a single one has any MY18s, new or demos. Only MY19s. So much for getting a nice discount. Looks like I'll have to go new.

I checked. None in my size that ship to the US/ship at all within my price range.

They've got a few Mediums but I'm a Large.

There's a 920 in Bakersfield, but it's almost new for a $500 premium over what I could get at my LBS for new with a 940. I know it has a nicer fork+carbon upper but that's not worth the extra $500 when I know I'll get that support in labor from my LBS in the long run.

well i finnaly got a full sus bike but after riding around just on the road for a couple of days the shock started making a clicking noise. is there anything wrong with my shock or how do i fix this?

Could be many things. Dry linkage, shock needs a service, etc. Take it to a shop

It shouldn’t need a service I probaly have 4 hours of road biking on it, I’ve been concussed so haven’t been able to ride any trails yet

Bro you need to chill out, not everyone wants to take there bike to a shop only for them to charge you after saying it’s fine when you could find a solution online. Thats what threads are for.

While he is being a dick per usual, he's not at all wrong about this.

With suspension you basically have two options:
-Get on youtube, buy a bunch of special tools/ replacement parts, and attempt to rebuild the shock and diagnose the issue yourself. With this option, there's a good chance you'll fuck up and bust your shock beyond repair or at least so much that you'll have to spend more at the shop than you originally would have. Unless you're very mechanically experienced and have a full shop at your disposal, I wouldn't consider this option.
-Take it to your lbs, potentially take a small financial hit for the rebuild, and have better peace of mind. If they look at it and it determine that its fine, they shouldn't charge you any money. My lbs even made an adjustment on my shock free of charge when i was having issues fitting it onto my frame after i had it serviced at another suspension specific shop.

I’ll disagree with that. I completely rebuilt my Rock Shox Pike about a month ago with no other knowledge other than following manuals and YouTube videos. It worked perfect and my Fork is running better than ever.

On another note. Does anybody here know what bashguard/chain protector would work and/or that you'd reccomend on a Giant Faith (freeride/DH bike oly used for park riding)? I crackedy my ethirteen one. I'm keen on MRP since they're local to Colorado but not sure what to get.

I love riding Lunch Loops in GJ and plan on doing a day trip out there very soon. Hit me up if you plan on riding anywhere in the Aspen valley. This picture was taken in Carbondale at Mushroom Rock but I live in Snowmass. Riding Prince Creek (the base of the mountain in the background) this evening. Our lift access trails in Snowmass are only open weekends now but the Aspens are popping early this year with tons of great trails to ride.

Welp, I knew it was gonna happen. After riding Whistler/Washington for a week, I'm ruined on CO trails (not really, but loam and properly built trails that are outside of bike parks are quite nice haha)

My wife and I were actually planning on moving to Bellingham for a while, but she’s not quite as stoked on the rain as I am. That, and she’s so used to living in a mountain/ski area town which the northwest really doesn’t have, Bham was a little big for her taste. Wish we could make Pemberton work somehow haha

You typically see a burst of footage around this time. The 420 fest has been going on for 31 years and its during a short window when you can ride these lines before they harden up. Its on private land but the owner allows it knowing the significance of the area (look up Farwell Canyon). While I woke up early Sunday to ride this by myself because we had to head out that morning, the day before with shitty weather, I've never seen so many people ripping big mountain lines together.

If you ever do one thing in your life, this is it. We got shuttled up to camp by James Doerfling at one point. NBD.

Loooong shot here but I'm having a hard time:



Does anyone have a 26" 1.5" straight steer tube fork with 35-36" sanctions, no more than 160mm travel and preferably with 15mm thru axle?



Looking for a fork to get my NS Bitch back in action and I've broken the past two all mtn/xc forks on it. So hard to find a 26" fork with those specifications.
