Chronic Base Color

I was at the ski shop a few days ago and saw the Chronics both at 177 with the same white top sheet design, but one bottom base was white with black letters and the other base was black with white letters. Is this a model year difference? Just curious.

no, because fo the die that they use for the bases it amkes sense to alternate, so they dont run out of one color first. so there are lots of line skis with alternate base colors.

IT makes plenty sense if u have a base that is 80% one color and 20% the other color and u make thousands of skis u r goin to a)have to use a shitload more dye for one color and b) have a shitload left over. Why not rotate?




Pete is currently sulking around Mt. Hood, shooting with Poor Boyz Productions and hitting on Kristi Leskinen. She hates guys, Pete lamented, so it’s not going good. Apparently Canada isn’t the only thing that’s tough for Pete to get into.

makes loads of sense, the black ones would look cooler in my opinoin

i would get balck in my opinion it looks cooler , technicaly they would be faster , and when you gouge em and have to fil em you wont have brown spots from burnt clear ptex wich is almost always the case

how come they cant just buy more of one color and less of another color...thats another way to solve the problem...

The pollards are like that, I was mad, cause my shop had the ones with Brown bases and I dind like that. I only like white bases unless its 4frnt.

i think the white with black lettering was the where the preseason runs, i bought my 04-05 motherships back in may and i have a white base with black lettering, and now all the motherships have blue and light blue bases.

black is better because it has more carbon in the base so it creates less firction on the snow... technicaly....i duno how big of a difference it makes but it is faster
