N00b question regarding android s5

so i just switched from iphone to an s5, I have struggled to find an easy way to transfer music. google play has been glitchy and not uploaded what i wanted, and what i did upload i am not sure if it's actually on my phone and not just on the manager. I dont want to be using data every time i want to play music. iv tried doubletwist didnt work very well. i finally just bluetoothed it to my phone but that takes forever.

what is the easiest, most simplistic way to transfer files? (photos/music/docs etc)

and if you have any tips for a new android user please let me know:)

You can definitely just plug your phone into your computer and transfer files.

That being said, I use google play, all of my music is uploaded to google and I can access it all from my phone. After you listen to it on your phone, its stored to your phone but you can also select music to download to your phone by "keeping it on your device". Different than iOS but still easy.

whenever i plug my phone it, my computer doesnt recognize it. if i got to usb options on my phono it has either mtp or ptp and i have it on mtp. i have not been able to find how to enable mass storage to transfer manually. i will try google play again though seems like thats the easiest way

try turning off usb debugging

Download "android file transfer" on your computer and then plug in your phone

First of all I would like to congratulate you for making the right decision and switching to the Android. There are plenty of apps available on Google Play and millions of users worldwide open their Google Play accounts and download new apps on daily basis. In your case I guess you need to first transfer all of your data to your computer and then use an app like "AirDroid" to transfer the data to your S5.

The easiest way I found was just creating a folder on the SD card and dragging all the songs from itunes. Worked perfect, except no playlist transfer.



If you're on mac you'll need android file transfer to do it, on windows it should be native.
