Great year for the east coast

At least some places. Anybody else get hammered this season? Upstate NY is pretty much a glacier that should hold through august/ september.

Maybe not but it seems like it. How'd errrbody else do in 13/14?

jay is supposed to get hammered tommorow and thursday, they are anticipating closing weekend to be mothers day. Such an unreal second half of the season for them

Because they keeping their budget as minimal as possible, they definitely still have a good bit of snow left that they could push around to stay open til at least mid april but since bob nutting is a huge piece of shit who only cares about money they'll close within the next two weeks or so is my guess. Also because the only people heading up now are season pass holders, they arent making very much money from ticket sales at this point in the season.

Okay thats what I figured. That is how most resorts are, which is understandable. Although it would be nice if more places did what BB does and does weekends only.

BC is closing Sunday but we could easily be open for another 2+ weeks.  Simple fact is that when we get a handfull of 55+ degree days out, people stop caring about going skiing.  I feel like minimal ticket revenue and low hotel occupancy is what's ending everyone's season on the East this year.

For sure. We could have been open another month easily. Ridiculous base on some of the trails.

I remember trying up to mount snow to shred rails in mid june. You go into the gas stations all thugged out and people are like WUT?

Once the temp rises and it's sunny everyday people forget that skiing exists. Damn shame. I was bummed that we didn't get any spring conditions ever. I love spring riding but only really had 2 or 3 days of it.


Hoping to farm some snow and build a pile for some post season shenanigans.

its STILL cold as balls in massachusetts, this has to be the coldest march ever, we've only had like 3 slushy days so far. haven't got any accumulating snow in almost 6 weeks, but theres still a ton here.

I always get the same look when I have all my gear on in the winter and I go somewhere other than the ski resort. I can imagine that being the case.

crazy good year. temps are finally gonna get warmer tomorrow and into the weekend (i'm in central new york) but my mountain still has so much snow, i'm going to be hiking until at least the beginning of may.

I'm just over an hour from there. Went for one of the wed deals mid season. That storm missed them and only dumped about a foot but still got some great pow lines deep in the ravine.


I'll have to get back there again next season.

whiteface claiming 8. they definitely have the ability to stay open til may regardless of any drastic warmup. the question is whether they will stay open or shut down from a lack of non passholder business

Never actually been there but might have to take a trip. Long as drive but maybe I can find some friends to come with me to shred the 603. It's been a while since I've shredded them parts.

Also sadly we got rain today where I am. Still have plenty of snow but it def roasted the conditions and spring might finally be here.

I'm planning on coming up on saturday. Don't actually have any plans but trying to grab a cheap/free ticket from a friend and hit whiteface/plattsburg.

Hopefully the airbags open. I haven't hit a jump in a few years but I'd love to chuck a couple dubs into that thing and tool around a bit.

it'll be a good day if the rain clear out. northern 603 still has alot of snow of WV has a fun park setup.

weather looks to be mostly sunny, high right around 50. if you make the trip down it would be cool to meet up and shred with another NS'er. and seriously, its a fucking dollar lift ticket, it is hard to pass it up right

I was up there that day, the only problem was when you got closer and closer to the bottom of the mountain, the snow was getting wetter and wetter. Other than that, in the morning I took a glorious powder run on Lower Thruway and Calamity Lane, with hardly any tracks on it.

NH has been pretty sick this year, pow days even in the preseason, and still going strong. Piece of poo mountain closes next weekend though when it could easily stay open for a while more.

Best snow year in the past few years and Big Boulder closed the earliest they have in a while. Looks like they are bringing back may day though which will be fun.
