What do you think about Bobby Brown's style

After reading Bishop's post about coming around on Nick Goepper I'd like to draw attention to Bobby Brown.
He has uploaded quite a few clips and edits on his facebook and I have to say that I think his style is all but robotic.
He is tweaking his grabs into next week, afterbanging like a boss and "riding out like thug".
He isn't only doing dub 10s and 12s, but grabs and stomps the crap out of slow flatspins, rodeo 9s, zero spins and switch corks, all the classic "style" tricks.
His rail game is also way better than it was two years ago.
I really don't see why people hate on his style anymore, I personally think he is way closer to T-Wall than Henshaw nowadays. Everything just looks super relaxed and smooth.

Does anybody else share my opinion, or is OP a particularly large faggot?

I do use a lot of words. Que essay:

I go to University. It's midday and I've already worked out for two hours, done an interview for a project and written 5 pages on said paper. I'll soon leave for a class and then I have practice again. I have a 6 year contract with my team and I've played in the junior European Championships. This weekend I'm visiting my hometown to go out with my old friends. I do have better things to do.

I love skiing, it's my second favorite thing to do in the world. But between multiple training sessions a day, games on the weekends and the shittiest winter I've seen in my life I've only managed to ski for one week this season. I need to somehow stay in touch with the freeskiing world.

That's why I spend a lot of my free time commenting on newschoolers.

browns and henshaw style are really close to each other stomping wise, Henshaw said in an invterview that he didn't agree with afterbang and you should just stomp your tricks

I mean. Sorta. His style could still use quite a but if work but there is no doubt he is a phenomenal skier with a great deal of talent. His robostyle isn't what bugs me. Its the feeling I get that he isn't excited to be skiing. Like its another day at the office. Whereas guys like dollo and twall and lj and and parry etc seem genuinely happy to be shredding even though they may do it every day

he's obviously a very talented skier, but he never seems to do anything special, all of his tricks are pretty standard and he rarely suprises anyone. Seems to hold back in comps and just put down a solid run in order to score highly instead of trying anything new. Anyhow I would love half the style he has!

Bobby is sick he is so clean and a really strong skier overall. A lot of people on here hate him though because hes doing what he enjoys rather than being a wannabe thug

Bobby is an EXTREMELY talented skier. He's fucking amazing but sometimes when I watch him ski it reminds me of this:

To get out ahead of the hate. Yes, Bobby is a way better skier than I am (light years actually), he has way better style than I do, and he is a waaaaaaaaay better person than I am.

I don't exactly hate on him but I don't really enjoy watching him. He is a phenomenal skier but he just looks like everyone else. Mute grabs and dub 12s. Pretty solid at rails but nothing too out of the ordinary. I would much rather watch Goepper throw a genie grab or watch Henrik do some butters. I wouldn't really say that he as much more style than most people that throw those tricks. Looks all the same to me. That being said, it's still sick how good he is. Just not a standout.

Also, what was with his run in the Olympics? Did he have an off day or did he forget that it wasn't still 2011 xgames?

Did you see his last landing in X slope qualifiers? He missed the grab on his right dub 10 a bit but the landing was probably the most solid one I've seen in the sport.

Personally Bobby is my favorite. I can't even tell you why, I just think he's so clean. Hate on me as you want, but it's preference and I really like Bobby.

Bobby's doing what he loves everyday. Not everyone can have Henrik or Hatveit levels of exuding from themselves at all times, but it's clear to see Bobby loves what he does.

Bobby is amazing, hes not the kind of guy to go a bunch of huge triples and I for sure know he wont be the first do a quad but he can throw the best cork 5s and floaty dubs though.

I have always had the same opinion on bobbys style: Exept for his dubs and trips it looks sick. Really relaxed and steezy, but as soon as he does a double or more he looks like a robot. I would actually say his comptricks have gotten uglier the last year

His first run in finals was money until he didn't land his trip 14 on the last hit. Second run he landed too deep on the first two jumps and didn't have the trip.

And Bobby is the man. his style is clean. and whoever said he doesn't try new shit is RETARDED. do you recall who 1st revealed sw dub misty 12 & 14s? how about the trip 14 (grabbed like a boss)? Looks like he's now got nosebud dubs. If you aren't feeling it in a comp run you aren't pushing your bag of tricks. But everyone has to agree the guy has arguably the deepest bag around.

And for the record we saw bobby grabbing screamins in cork 5s/7s years ago. The dude has fun and if you don't recognize that then fuck you. it's not worth arguing.

After I saw the switch dub 9 when he caps his blunt I lost my shit. He has such an absurd amount of tricks, not only doubles, but super gangster singles. His grabs are "tweaked to next week" and all his tricks are looking fresh these days, one of my favourite skiers fusho.

Does nobody realize that Bobby Brown is the perfect example for the freeski scene's hunt for style and not only tech/spin to win-shizzle? He came into the scene with his switch dub misty 14 back in 2010. But from then on he was just another top skier in the scene, but not outstanding. The skiers that the bigger part of the community loves still are the ones with style and creativity like dollo, everyone from tc, and so on.

He has good style but it is not unique. Its like a lot of the skiers in slope nowadays. Its like some cars. They look nice but dont turn heads. Thats how i feel about Bobby, its sick but nothing thats different and doesnt do things that set him apart.

He used to have a cool series about 18 months ago that I liked watching called Bobby's life. He's pulled some nice X-games victories, but seems to be in a bit of a medal drought right now. Laidback sort of guy.

I get the feeling you need to have tons of natural or acquired flexibility to then pull some big tweaks in the air (TYW/Gagnier style) BB seems to be pretty active in the gym, although that can stiffen a person up to.. would be interested to see him do some more backcountry or pipe.. basically move out of his comfort zone.

.. I think if he did some Yoga (if not already) and tried some heatslaying in the BC he could possibly do really well in Freeride due to style and air advantages. But I think the key here is experience and confidence, and being able to pick and visualize a line before even hitting a face. Don't know if he could do that. Seems to be physically strong enough.

Def agree that Gus is in the running for biggest bag of tricks... E Dollo, Walnuts, Rus, Schlopy, Goepper, Woodsy... all make that list too. Along with Bobby.

b-but Henny just learned unnatty sw dub 10's at the olympics.. I also Don't see much variation from Schlopy even though he is one of my favorites. the others are definitely up there, but with bag of tricks you also have to look at the discipline. Halfpipe brings in a ton of new tricks like alley-oops and flairs and mctwists and stuff so it is definitely a safe bet to say that Gus takes it for biggest bag.

Thank god someone's finally said it. For years Bobby has been my favorite in every comp. Him and Gus, don't ask me why, I don't know. For some reason I can get super behind him, probably just because he seems like an all around awesome dude. Also guys throws trips like he doesn't even fucking care. Remember megaslope last year? I definitely want him to get back up on the podiums again.
