Box/rail help?

For some reason, I can do 90 on to 90 off landing switch, however when I try to spin 90 so that I land forwards I can't bring myself around. Anybody have an idea why?

yea it is actually a bit harder then landing switch in my opinion.

Try putting some pressure on inside edge of your leading skis to help you stop the spin, then just keep looking forward and swing your hips forward. If you successfully stop the rotation at 90, you body should want to naturally unwind in the direction your facing anyway.

It's easier to land switch because you aren't fighting your momentum from the spin that put you on the rail. Lean forward more and put pressure on the inside of your front ski to land forward

When you're on the box, prep for the rotation by winding up your arms and then pop off the box

If it's a wide flat box I have this exact same problem and I still can't figure out how to correct it. If it's a down box I can use the inside edge of my leading ski (the technique others have described) and it works pretty solidly, also seems to work on flat boxes if they are narrow.

Rails for some reason are way easier to rotate off of, maybe it's because your ski camber grips the rail better than a box? I'm still new to this so I don't know. Don't give up, and maybe try some rails or tubes that are low to the ground since they seems easier to rotate off of.

It's because the part that you use to spin with is the metal edging. So when you try to scissor on boxes, you have to reach more with your ski because it's in front and behind your boot. Rails are right under your foot which makes it a lot easier to control your edge and spin. But usually with boxes you don't really set edges, you kind of just pop and spin
