This season hasn't been as great as I thought it would be. I've had a couple small injuries so far, and the weather has been pretty mediocre. Some of my friends are also out with injuries, and I haven't really progressed as much as I wanted to. I'm hoping February and March make up for the season so far.
i broke my collar bone in september rebroke it on my first good fall. been skiing half ass since then.
i can fuck around with rails but ive definitely been taking it easy on the large jump lines.
edit game not on par this season.
This year was supposed to be the year i got into freestyle but instead I've just been hitting a pvc rail i made in my friends backyard and havent hit a real park at all this year. Sucks man.
Haven't been skiing in a month because of exams. I am feeling nervous to do flips this season that I did thousands of times last season. I just need one good day to get me back in my skiing mood.
I feel really bummed for my kid brother. Got his first park setup this season (4FRNT Clicks) and he ended up tearing his ACL on his 5th day into the season.
in terms of days skiing i am on track for my best season yet. however the quality of skiing has only been meh. the east coast thaw/freeze cycles have made my hill an iceberg and it makes it tough to get motivated to try stuff.
Same situation here. The parks suck as a result. One day the jumps are too icy and the next day all the rails are melted out. I've had more bad days than good days this season
well i tore my acl and have surgery wensday and tahoe has had less snow than the east but the 14 day i got in before tearing my acl were fun even only skiing 1 run for 14 days so no not bad just not spectacular
got off crutches from 2 broken feet (one was in full boot so i could crutch) in november in time for rail jams. made it until 2 weeks ago when i broke both wrists in a crazy urban accident. plates in both wrists.lost my summer and now the rest of the winter.
Only have had one day of skiing here in my hometown, and it was raining, which sucked because I LIVE IN ALASKA but other than that I skied Winter Park and Copper Mt for a couple days which was not that bad but overall a bad season so far.
Vibes to anyone with an injury^
I messed up my leg and had to take to 2 weeks off after I stabbed my thigh with my pole due to a front flip complication.
Also rolled my ankle and had to go easy for a while
Terrible season, my mountain was open maybe in mid January 2 weeks then had to shut down again because all the snow melted, we're in a California like state up here on Vancouver Island.
there's definitely people who enjoy powder more than me, but these snow storms have had me going so big whether it's into the pow or on a park day. did my first front flip, didn't land it, hurt my shin like fuck but stoked!! I'm gonna do a 7 this year, hell maybe a 9
I just HOPE work doesn't make me too busy because I'm on a fucking roll right now! I'm not that great, I'm 28 so I'm not getting any younger so being this old and still progressing makes me feel so good.
Thgis season has been probably my worst season so far, broken skis, injuries, and not much progression but at the same time its been a blast just being on snow, skiing is better than no skiing!
It's all about your mental state man. I was skiing really well up until I compressed my T12 three weeks ago. Now I'm gonna be lucky if I can go to WCS. But I'm still stoked on how I was skiing, and expect to keep going once I'm healthy again. I'm not even mad.
Still recovering from a decent concussion. Been the worst injury I've ever had. Even worse then tearing my acl. Its all mental, day to day with no expected recovery timeline. Just looking forward to being 100% again!
Ever since I moved to Madison, I haven't had the time to get out. I went skiing 4 times over break, and haven't done anything else. One of those times I broke my binding off my brand new thalls, so needless to say it's been a lame season. Hopefully going to vail over spring break will make up for it
being in the midwest, i feel like ive been goin HAM on my progression game, ive been getting corks down that I would have been scared shitless to do las year, i even got a misty, rodeo and lincoln this year, can't wait to see if i can get a decent edit this year. also got 270 ons this year and switch ups. CLAIM/
I know that feel, got brand new skis and a 400$ pass to a much better hill than my old one. 5 days of skiing later I tore my acl and it all goes down the drain
Broke my humerus in 3 places, 2 weekends ago. And my Jski's just showed up at my house today. On top of that, I was suppose to be in Colorado for 9 days (I live in Michigan). Doctor just said today I won't be skiing again this year
Learned some off axis tricks, too many rail tricks to list (mostly on PVC but still...), started hitting urban and I'm liking it way more than skiing park, also have gotten 80"-90" of snow in Northern Minnesota, usually the snow is only about 2-3 feet deep but this year it's nip deep up there! The high for march 1st in Minneapolis is going to be -2°F so the season should still be going on for awhile, hopefully as long as last year (I got to ski in May in Minnesota). Summary: best damn season of my life so far, and still have two months left!
been a good season so far. 15 days or so. plus a ton of time on my backyard rail. also found this tramp park near my house the other day and went and practiced some flips. had fronts and rodeo 5s pretty dialed but i absolutely wrecked myself on both of my backflip attempts so i cant really turn my head today.. but ill be ready to go this weekend hopefully
