What ND filter should I get?

I have a tokina 11-16 on a t3i and obviously need an ND filter on it. It was insanely hard to use the other day and I was losing quality.

I'm on the east coast so I'm forced to film in a lot of cloudy weather, but i do prefer filming in the sun. What tiffen ND filter should I be looking at? Tiffen .6? Tiffen 1.2?

Get a filter holder and those little panes of filter glass.

Or get an adjustable ND filter.

Both option costs more, but they are incredibly versatile.

I'd suggest a 1.2ND for sunny days and .6ND for cloudy. Fader NDs are nice but definitely degrade your image they're not the best tool. You could probably get away without an ND on cloudy days so I'd say get a 1.2
