iSmokeweedI will be doing EDC New York, tomorrowworld, and moonrise.
-benedettoSince EDM heavy, did you see the Mysteryland line up? Thoughts?
iSmokeweedEdc= big names that will throw down in an urban setting.
Mystetyland= small names that mights also throw down in a rural setting.
I chose edc because I did it last year and I loved it. The stages are massive and my friend lives right my met life. Also there is tons of great dnb, dubstep and trance.
Most importantly, edc is awesome at putting people like bassnectar(the love of my life) at the same time as people like hardwell and tiesto so you know all the douche bros will not be there.
Mysterland's biggest appeal to me was the camping aspect. Don't get me wrong, the music is gone a be sick. Just DONT SEE PORTER ROBINSON if he's doing the Japanese bullshit set. Its super slow and un impressive. Not what you'd expect from porter. If you wanna do mysterland, I would go for it. It looks awesome- like a less awesome eforest.
*Nickdel*Whats everyone's opinion on Mountain Jam? Thinking about going there this year
louie.miragsFestival related: moe. tonight in Binghamton, and then thurs-saturday night in NYC!!!!!!!!
-benedettomoe. delivered the heat last night!
montageskierThoughts on Cabinet?
-benedettoIf only I could do every festival...
theabortionatorKind of shitty. HAd a great time in 2011 though. I don't really want to support it though. That venue is garbage. Good way to get arrested and brought down to the station if you have a crumb of nugs going through security.
I heard it was a great run. bumbed I missed it but I think I'm done going to see too much moe.
They're great, awesome to see them finally getting some love the last year or so!
It's doable. I think I got something like 14 in 2012. Most of them pretty major fests. A lot of fun, exhausting, a lot of fun, wild.
YOLO
connecticuntI completely forgot to include strangecreek in my festival lineup for the summer! Wormtown always gives good vibes
-benedettoWhat did you think of the vibes line up?
connecticunteh. I'm torn. I can't wait to see SCI and Ben Harper should be a good fit. Same with Zappa's kid, and I've also heard that Weezer is great live, but last year's was much better imo. Kinda disappointed really.
-benedettoFor sure, man. I didn't input my opinion because I wanted to see yours first. I went to ML last year and going again. Bethel Woods is local to me so I wouldn't miss it even though I'm not a huge listener of EDM or any edm at all actually. I would of liked to see Bassnectar on the line up but its not a huge deal. I was apart of the ML group on facebook but had to leave after the shit storm ensued after the line up. So much drama over a line up when the line up doesn't matter as much for mysteryland. Not being a huge edm fan, I could never go to EDC with all the bro's and teenie boppers but I could see how it'd still be really fun. Great that your friend lives close to the parking lot because commuting everyday would fucking suck! Regardless, both festivals should be great. I went to ML last year not knowing a single artist and had a fucking blast.
Maybe next year, I'll hit SCAMP instead.
Sky.Mysteryland line up is better this year imo way more underground shit plus they still got the boat imma miss Sunday school though. Security was sooo lax last year and the 'Cid was abbundent. Perfect way to start off the summer losing my sanity.
-benedettoI don't know about abundant but my tent neighbor hooked me up with a tab of "grateful dead" at ML. Needless to say, amazing Sunday and Monday morning sunrise..
louie.miragsThere was definitely some access to recreational drugs at ML but the security threats really scared some people. I was surprised people were even afraid to bring pot in. Not this guy. We had neighbors who threw there stash away and I talked to another dude who eat a g of Molly on the way in to avoid security. Turns out it was all threats.. Same ol story
-benedettoHahahaha ate a whole g to avoid security. Priceless.
Holy Ground was fun but I could see how Landers would be awesome too by the way your talking about it. However, the shuttle ride sounds like a bummer. Holy Grounds are a big party but it seems like Landers had more people inter-mingling. If that makes sense.
Sky.You got it to a tea, we're doing holy grounds this year to experience both. I'm gunna miss having my car 2 feet from my tent though. The vibes were soo strong hahah. The shuttle back was wretched. You walk that mile down the hill all the while there's police/security/troopers. heavy acid trip plus mdma plus mounted police equals a great trip turned bad I seriously seen one of the horses breathing smoke while it's eyes turned glowing red It litterally to every cell in my body to stay calm lmao. Then you wait in a line while the workers point at you and make rude remarks about how your lost, ooh look a unicorn, and soo on it deff did not help when trying to wind down from an insane night. Then you sit in a crammed bus with some old ass man for a bus driver who gets lost turning the stated 15 min ride into and hour and a half of hell crammed on a old school bus in the middle of no where lights off and 90% of the people on the bus are either having a bad trip or consoling someone who is. without the shuttle the experience would have been perfect.
I did have a 40x40 campsite with my own power/water an existing leantoo, that over looked the Delaware I actually took a dip a few times. Hahah good times
Sky.No it was rediculously understaffed, he was new. he drove past a welcome to pa sign and litterally backed into it and I mean litterally. they said they were sorry about the mix up hahaha.
there's was a few decent sized party's going on a landers one of them was sponsered by the event until ppl kept stomping the cords and chanting usa, a 100 lb Rican chicken kicked over a tower because the dj refused to play with all the tech problems it was hilarious, not soo plur though.
louie.miragsI really wish people wouldn't use the "USA" chant as jt generic chant to go to. It's so corny. Especially when ML is an international type festival with people from all over the world there.

-benedettohahahaha. I saw Landers is going bigger with a built stage and all. Which makes sense because they hold another mini-fest at the end of the summer too, cant remember what its called though. Man, I dislike the USA chant. It was cool right after Osama was killed but it's just annoying now. Everyone is PLUR until it's inconvenient lol
Speaking of unPlurness, the reactions from everyone when the line up dropped was fucking insane. The facebook group lit up with hate. I shouldn't even bring it up again because it was so annoying. On a semi-related note, Krewella (sp?) was added to the SCAMP line up and there was a petition to have them taken off and I saw the best comment on facebook about it "Let the kids dance. I guess it's hard to let your hair down after it starts falling out" hahaha even though that DJ does suck.
Mr.MittenLollapalooza just released their lineup today and it's pretty heavy in my opinion seeing as Metallica and A$AP Rocky are two of my favorite acts ever. Definitely hoping to get some tickets on craigslist closer to the festival because I had no luck trying to get them online today.
louie.miragsSo, I have decided to save some money and skip Mountain Jam for the moe. Saranac shows with Twiddle, Kung Fu and Cabinet. Also, Twiddle/Kung Fu this weekend in NYC!
louie.miragsYo Abortionator, have you been to the All Good festival before? Me and benedetto are highly considering making the trip to WV to experience a new festival (new to us) and travel to a place we haven't been before.
rudagerPemberton is up. Considering going.
