Quick tips prepping for rail jam

Hey fellow gooners and park rats, I just found out my uni is having a rail jam with a $2000 prize, me being the poor bastard I am have decided to bust out my old park skis in an attempt to save my bank account. The problem? I haven't hit a rail since my tall tee days in high school.

The rail jam is on friday and there aren't any ski resorts near my uni not to mention no snow so finding a rail to get some practice in on is going to be difficult. Anyone have any last minute tips or advice before I break my body in front of 600 drunk university students?

If you have a skateboard/longboard hit urban (put skis on board) then hit the rails dawg. (make sure to detune and wax first tho)

just throw park jump tricks and basically clear the rail or tap the end and youll be good.

+1 for flips. The chances of the judges having the slightest idea how to score a rail jam are slim to nil. Thus, do backflips. Backflip the lips, backflip the rollers, and better yet, backflip onto and off of boxes. Basically, the more backflips you do the better. Skill counts for nothing when you can backflip.

Step One: Skip Rail Jam.
Step Two: Go get black out drunk somewhere far from the rail jam.
Step Three: Start training right now.
Step Four: Spend the next 5 years training for the rail jam while inventing a time machine.
Step Five: Go back in time and win said rail jam.
Step Six: Leave cash under your pillow for you to find on Saturday Morning.

Thanks guys for the serious, and not serious responses. Getting pretty stoked, the student union is going pretty all out for this, a couple concerts and shows are going on after along with free meals so either way I'm going to have killer time. I'll update you guys after with whatever the hell happens.

get as much speed as possible, and spin as hard as you can. with any luck, you'll tap the end of the rail and won't fall, and can claim a 450 on/630 on

Right before you slip off lean in the opposite direction. You can then claim it to be a nose/tail pres.

Whelp, I'm quite late. Not too many people showed up for skiing and there were only boxes so I got 3rd place winning a sweater, shirt, new gloves and 50 bucks. I haven't really tried to get any of the photos my friends took but here are a couple of photos taken by the photography club.
