definetly not real, notice how they dont show a takeoff or landing, just the flip. probably had a snowflex run in and jump and maybe landing for some of them. still pretty fucking cool but its pretty easy to tell whats really going on

Absolutely nuts, I was expecting it to hit the homepage when I posted it in the video section, and then when some noob reposted it there too.

Obviously some bits are real but you may be right that some bits are a bit unbelievable, but who cares, they're making it look awesome.

According to this Powder article the shots are 100% real with snow trucked in and everything. I'm still a little skeptical but either way it's mind blowing

I don't care if they didn't show the inruns and landings, it was damn cool, and I don't think the fact they landed the tricks was the focus anyways

also iirc theres a photo floating around somewhere on instagram, they did infact use real snow

My first thought is that they took some snow out in the forrest, or at some other shots perhaps some turf and they shot at angles to avoid showing it.
In some shots you can see some snow slushing up when he jumps, i have a fucking slow connection and can't watch it in HD without lag, so it's hard to tell (for me) if it's CGI or real snow (would probably look real if it was CGI anyway).

But this looks fucking amazing, i really must buy this film! and so should you!

I saw this 3 weeks ago and talked to the filmers.

100% real, filmed at mt baker, lots of gnar crashes because run outs were as one would think.

There is a behind the scenes coming out sometime. 100% real talked to 3 different people involved in the shooting and have seen behind the scenes angles. It is BS they put in so much work and people don't believe it, show some respect. Also buy the whole movie, it isn't like other ski movies but it is awesome

Meh, not a big fan.

It's edited exactly how it would be edited if it was fake. I doubt it's real, and if it is then it's filmed and put together poorly.

No issue with you not being a fan - that is your opinion - but saying it is fake is ridiculous. We sponsor two of the four athletes in the segment and paid to get them there for the shoot. It was a crazy difficult, long shoot and just our 2 athletes alone were in the woods for almost two weeks (if memory serves me correctly) making it happen. And that wasn't the only shoot that went down to make that segment happen. Much of the premise was to show as little snow as possible so it looked all whimsical and shit.

What about it feels fake to you and how do you think they went about faking it? How would you have improved upon it and put it together in a way that would proved it was real?

I look forward to your answer.

The fact that there wasn't a single shot of the snow they were skiing on or an inrun makes it seem questionable.

I think you could improve this post if you used a little bit of logic.

They intentionally cut out all the inruns? Wow thanks for letting me know! I didn't realize that until your enlightening comment!

Now try and grasp this, their intentionally editing out the inruns made it appear fake to me and others(take a look at the OP).

Make a little more sense now?

Production a total of 6 or 7 weeks camped out in the forest over two summers. Lots of hard work for sure and Karl, Sander, Zack, and Eliel all have huge balls for sending it into that rock and stick infested forest.. as one of the people on the other side of the lens I can 100 Percent say I would never be sending my sorry ass off those features, pure craziness.

And yes you are spot on about the snow, and obviously those who have seen it in the context of the film know the whimsical vibe is definitely what we had in mind through the whole thing!

IMO the whole idea of not showing snow at all is what makes it so great. Loved the whole vibe of the vid and the shots were sick. This is CREATIVE!

They went to baker, drove up to the glacier everyday, filled 90 litre bags with snow, and then went walking into the woods for every single one of those shots. not fake, just different to scare your unopen mind.

I'm more impressed by the level of CGI that went into this segment, I mean thats some James Cameron level shit right there
