Dont get me wrong, I love women that can throw down but I can't stand watching them in these freestyle events. The men can just do so much more that it makes women's free skiing boring to watch for me...

Obviously women are at a disadvantage in many sports due to a few reasons. It's not expected for them to be at the same level as men.

Also it makes complete sense to me that women who dedicate their life to a sport like skiing want to be known for their ability and not physical appearance. To me it seems like the classic story of the guy who is good enough to make the team but everyone says he's only on because his parents have involvement with the team. They work hard at what they do and to belittle their accomplishments by saying "their only pro because their hot/only on the team because your dads the coach" I would assume would be pretty offensive to most.

Hopefully that made some sense

I have nothing but respect for female comp skiers, Bowman throws down way harder than me in the stunt ditch. Doesn't mean I'll watch it, but I can respect it.

What do these comparisons have to do with whether a chick skier should use their body for fame? Because we're behind we need to compensate? Do boobies = dubs?

Women are so far behind, it totally sucks. But when you look at what the best female skiers are doing compared to the rest of chicks out there riding, its so impressive! Compare chick skiers to men and we look ridiculous. But its not a fair comparison. Compare girls to girls, and their talents will be appreciated.

Yeah I totally agree with this but I think the reason women aren't at the same level as men is mainly because there aren't enough leaders in women's freeskiing, like when you think about it almost every male athlete has done something proggresive or creative for the sport and on the women's side there's Sarah Burke who did a lot for the sport, kaya turski with her switch 10 recently and Maude Raymond's clean style and then the random pop ups like Kelly sildaru and that chick who threw a double a while back. Basically there's been more progression in men's skiing in the last year then there has been in female skiing in the last 6 years. Don't get me wrong, I think women have the ability to throw down as well as the guys, but I think the majority of women just wait for some one to progress the sport, then follow just to keep their place on the podium. And I think the excuse that the competition jumps are too big to progress on is complete bull, because the sport was pioneered on the same jumps, just now they're built with snow cats and are cut out to perfection instead of shitty handmade jumps. Sorry for the rant.

 sports like basketball..etc including Freeskiing are deemed  "masculine" which makes young girls not want to get into those sports.SO Basically society pressures women to be a certian way and not to be (strong) athletes.  girls are less likely to try the sport because they are worried  what people will think of them then it decreases the pool of comptent skiers. I don't know if that made sense but it was worth a try.

I think he's saying that if you want to be treated like a pro and not just a pretty face then actually throw down like a pro skier should. Until women can ski as well as men, they won't be taken as seriously.

I didn't enjoy any of that asides from Torin's run.

All the other skiers in those vids has style that was as awkward as my own hahaha, expect they also had some serious skill too.

For comparison sake, look at Men's basketball vs. Womens basketball at any level. Same as skiing. Same as golf, same as pretty much any sport in the world. I agree 100% but think this argument has been beaten like a dead elephant. Its comes down completely to body make-up and physiological make up. At the top of any sport, men will be better 9 times out of ten. Its nothing against women and im not trying to be sexist. Just pointing out the obvious.

I don't think its fair to bash women's skiing, but accept that it has some core differences. We're different creatures, and have different characteristics in temperament as well as strength. Just be happy women's skiing has gotten this far and hope that it continues to grow.

This makes me think that guys think the only thing stopping girls from throwing down like guys is because....well, they don't want to?

Woman CAN'T ski like men. They CAN'T. Zimmerman can dub, but when you watch her, you can tell instantly she is a girl. Our bodies don't move the same way. So comparing women to men is pointless. That's my point. Just try to appreciate women skiers using the yard stick of comparison as other WOMEN.

women figure skaters and gymnists are better and more fun to watch then men. Freestyle skiing is more alike to these sports than any other. Women as a whole are more flexible than men probably because of yoga and not genetics, but still. So why cant women do cool grabs? Octo? dub mute? come on! Women have smaller frames which is better than a big one skiing. Maybe its mental: women value their safety more?? or are just smarter overall which is a fact Im pretty sure. So smarter=shittier makes sense. Also makes sense that the skiers we enjoy watching the most (stept, 4bi9, leve11) kill the most brain cells of anyone. Also its rare to see a girl throw down without a helmet. If it was just a matter of leg strength then there would be no argument but skiing is hugely about style which is why girl skiers need to quit worrying about dubs and start worrying about their favorite thing to worry about; how they look.

I watched a local slope-style contest and the guys were corking and doing pretzels. The winning girl run was a 3 safety and a straight 5 no grab.

I will say i know a girl whos better than me. But at a professional level girls look so awkard when there skiing. Like if you look at the pipe video. Compare her stance to Torins in transitions. I think STwoops said theres deffenitly potential for them just looking at the fact that woman are dominate in sports like figure skateing and gymnastics wich are closly related to skiing. They just need time. On the looks vs talent i think that argument is Complete Bull shit if your good you will make it regardless of what you look like.

Not that I know anything about it, but how the heck can a moto race be called an "enduro"? Isn't the point of an enduro to combine technical downhill sections with difficult uphill climbs? This just looks like a track with a bunch of shit on it to screw you up.
