Alright just think about this...if you write it down in one math equation it becomes obvious

I'll use 100 as my number:
((100X2+6)/2)-100

(100X2)/2 = 100
100 -100 = 0
6/2 = 3

to prove it further

((Yx2+6)/2)-Y=3
((2Y+6)/2)-Y=3
Y+3-Y=3

3 = 3

(ie there are infinite # of solutions for Y and they will always come out to be 3)
