Replying to Lab 001 or pillowfight?

XtRemE11:
i finally have some money saved up for a dedicated pair of powder skis. made a similar thread awhile back looking for a dedicated pow ski, but i think ive narrowed it down to these two.

from what i've gathered they're super similar with the convex base and width, id get the 181 labs or 186 pillow fights. seems about right considering im 5'10, 155lbs, and a fairly strong skier, doubt float would be anything close to an issue with either.

the thing keeping me from getting the pillowfights is the price, 1000 bucks is insanely expensive, i can almost justify it as ill probably have them for years, but i can get last years lab's for less than half that.

the thing im concerend about with the labs is if they're the typical surface 2x4 flex. i've skiied the one lifes, which are super stiff, but with the gigantic abrupt rocker they actually feel pretty buttery and makes it easy to get out on the tips or tails for butters. i really dont like that feeling where you you try to get on the tails and flex em if you're trying to slash or just plow through something, and nothing happens, makes nose butters awkward as hell too. i like to be able to flex my skis and make them do what i want. i had the original ep pro's and being able to do legit, flexing the tips quite a bit, nose butters in powder might have been the funnest thing ive done on skis, and it seems like the pillow fights are a lot close to that kind of ski.
