If that's true, I'm using one of those or a chainsaw. The more I think about nailguns the more I realize how hard that would actually be able to killl someone with in a brawl. You'd have to hit them right in the skull, and even then, they might not die instantly. With a chainsaw you literally just decapitate them or stab them in the gut with it and cut them in half.

long range would be a nailgun and for close quarter battle a heavy duty brushcutter, this will keep my attackers at a distance and could easily chop off a limb ...

nailguns have safety mechanisms where they have to be pressed onto the surface to shoot.
inb4 but in Happy Gilmore it happened

Ummmm yeah all you have to do is pull the safety back. Its easy. People do it all the time especially if your gun is misfiring and you need to test if its throwing nails. Sounds like YOU have no experience.

Also you can easily remove the spring and fire at will.

Woodchipper. The trick is to hide behind the woodchipper as you slowly roll it toward the nailgun guy. Nailguns have terrible accuracy anyway. When you get close, crimp the pnumatic hose and throw him in the woodchipper.
