How low is too low?

How low of a flex is just way to low. I just hike rails all day and love flexy boots, and im looking at some flex two full tilt tongues. But say im 180lbs so im pretty sure that is too low but what would happen if i had too low of a flex.

youd tear ligaments with a 2 flex, i'm a little lighter than you and I have 6 and 8 flex and the 6 can be too soft sometimes

Yes. All personal preference whatever you want to ride. I ride a nordica ace of spades which is a progressive 100-130 flex for park.

Thats true, although I have seen some people ride with their boots practically open who rip. Although I've got flex 8 in my boots to avoid shin bang, Im about the same size and they flex decent amount when needed.

I rode FTs 10 flex with world cup booster straps and still over powered them at times. They were fine for park.

It depends how hard you ride. The same principles apply to boot stiffness in the park as they do out of the park. If you are an advanced park skier, who skis fast and goes big, chances are you will like a stiffer boot better. (Look at what most of the comp skiers are on.) If you are just starting out or mostly just jibbing around then you might like a softer boot.

Full Tilts are really soft.

I don't like soft boots. I feel way more in control with stiff boots, and it doesn't cause as much friction in my shins. I feel like it helps for staying on rails and scissoring as well

I ride 100 flex atomics, and I'm pretty light (145lbs) and I definitely overpower them charging.
2 flex Full tilt tongues are like a 60 flex. you might as well just click in with skate shoes.
Soft boots are nice on hardpack days for shock absorbtion, and are great for slow speed small park features.
Stiffer boots are much more supportive, and much nicer at high speed, and on bigger jumps.

honestly I see no benefit of soft boots, other than being able to pop a little more since you have that forward push and added preload. Maybe they are more comfortable, but you're losing a ton of control. For 180 lbs I wouldn't go any lower than a 6 tongue. 4 would work but it'd be reaaally soft. You may as well practice shouting "Ive got broken ankles! AHH" if you plan on hitting any jumps with 2s.

I'm similar to your weight, and I bought Hot Doggers (blue ones, idk what year) with the #6s. I thought they were absolutely bang-on for park, but they got mushy outside. Bought some flex 8s. They're *just* stiff enough to feel confident pushing fat skis around and more than forgiving enough in the park
