Why poles or no poles?

I'm sure this thread has been made like 100 time but i dont care. I dont use poles, why? Cause they are annoying unless im skiing powder. Why do you use poles? Why dont you use poles? Just curious. Post away.

i used them because i ski and i like to.

and it helps for flats

if they annoy you dont use them. pretty simple

Candide-style pole plant cork 9s are way harder without poles.

I personally just use whatever I feel like. If I'm just fucking around at night I probably won't use poles

Its your opinion. whatever you think feels good. No poles make grabs easier but make your arms look like spaghetti

i use poles most of the time but sometimes i use no poles if i just wanna chill and no poles feels easier to cork and spin off rails imo

Haha this is a hilarious thread...I'm all about my poles, but mostly when I decide to go hardcore old school and lock my feet together and start making super tight jump turns while screaming in german. or during a chinese downhill, Hot Dog the Movie style.

Just do what makes you happy man.

I'm with the other guys, just do whatever feels better for you, not because somebody calls you a douche!!

But personally I spend most of my time in a small park where once you get to the bottom, you are right at the rope tow so no real need for poles so I don't use them in the park. I also think it just feels more "flowy" without poles as long as you aren't in the flats.
If I'm, in pow or really just anywhere outside of the park I use poles because I feel awkward trying to carve without pole plants. Also, because getting stuck in the flats blows.

That's my reasoning but please just do whatever the fuck you want.

Oh yeah i wasnt planning on starting using poles, i was just seeing what other people do. I love not using poles.

No poles is fun......until that slightly uphill lift line and its really crowded. Then, not so much.

I love no poles but at the same time i love poles, i couldnt find poles i liked untill i put bike grips on them, but still ill do half a day with or every few laps ill ditch my poles at the top. just do what you prefer dude!
