Does Greyhound allow you to bring skis???

Traveling by Greyhound bus in a few days and am hoping to bring my skis.  Will I be able to do this?  And if so, do they charge some exorbitant fee for it?  Thanks

Depends where youre coming from.

Normally they do not, but sometimes if it is an empty bus theyre OK with it.

the 3 times iv e used greyhound for skiing trips its been no problem bringing my skis and boots. i live in montana tho and the buses never really that busy round here and that was along time ago , prob like 7 years ago before i had a reliable car. so i bet they will , but giving them a call couldn't hurt .

I've travelled with my huge Dakine double concourse on a full Greyhound. As long as you pay I don't see why you couldn't take it.

I've never had any issues bringing my gear! It never hurts to call ahead though.

Tip: tape your ski bag to your suitcase and they don't charge you extra because it's one bag.

I had to take a greyhound from Montana to Colorado at the end of a summer ski season because my best friend broke his face and drove home weeks earlier. i got on the last midnight bus, didn't have the cash for the extra oversized luggage charge but the lady was like fuck it and slapped the sticker on anyway. then during a 4 hour layover in nowhere wyoming I fell asleep at the bus depot and almost got left behind, but a nice crack head who I shared some weed with before we left montana woke me up before the bus left.

Yes, you can take them with you. Last time I took a Greyhound, I was going Seattle-->Spokane and they allowed me to bring skis/poles. They just have to be boxed/taped up or in a ski bag. A special tag is required from the counter and from what I remember it did not cost extra.

I just tie a string to like 5 bags and since they're all connected they only charge you for one

Yeah I walked on with my skis no problem many of times they make you put them under the bus in the storage compartment

never had an issue with my skis in a ski bag.

the only time my skis fucked me over was after a flight trying to take the airporter mini bus. the fucking idiot loaded everyone elses shit first and then at the end when my skis didnt fit he was like "well just wait for the next one"

and then on the next one the driver tried to do the same fucking thing, and i was like "no, put my skis in first and if you have to unload everyone elses bags then reload them after dropping me off, so fucking be it. cause im not missing another goddamn bus because you dont know how to load your trunk."


that really grinded my gears.
