Is this the stupidest idea for a movie ever? So the premise is that JGL likes porn and jerking it. But then he falls in love Scarlett Johansson. So the problem in the movie is that he has to choose between jerking it to porn and boning ScarJo. How is this movie longer than 3 minutes?
Thanks Heath. While JGL does have a lot of great movies (Brick is one of my favorites) he's also done movies like Premium Rush and GI Joe. He's never written or directed anything other than shorts before this and the only thing he has produced (besides another short) was Looper, which was great for the first 2/3 and then there was a definite drop off.
It just bugs me when Hollywood makes a movie like this where somehow it's a hard decision between porn and ScarJo. I'm not saying this movie won't be good, I'm just saying the premise and believability of it has it starting out behind the eight ball
That's what I was hoping it wold be when he first announced it long ago but it really doesn't seem to be that. It seems from the trailer it's a romantic comedy starring a guido trying to justify porn to ScarJo by comparing them to regular movies.
If it was a study in to porn addiction and how it affects life I would be pretty stoked on it because that movie would be wildly interesting but it just doesn't seem to be that movie
I though the movie was pretty good. shedding some light on a fairly taboo topic while drawing in parallels between porn and those sappy romance movies. draws out the double standard of men expecting women to be insatiable whores and women expecting men to give up their entire lives to please a woman. also just puts a more human face on a growing problem many of this nations youth are going through.
I liked it a lot, and I totally disagree with the claim that this is an unbelievable premise. There were some problems with the movie, but overall I was engaged the entire time.
