Thinking about buying a puppy

I've wanted a dog my whole life and I think it's time. I'm going to check out some puppies right now. I love golden retrievers. The only problem is they shed a lot. What kind of dog do you recommend, I want a loyal dog. Golden Retriever mix? Lab mix? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated

Id go rescue. It really feels good when you know you saved a dog from being murdered by the "humane" society. Plus most of them are trained

I had a Rhodesian Ridgeback. They are actually incredibly tame.

I completely agree with this. one thing the dog whisperer has showed me is that there is no such thing as a "bad dog", just bad trainers.
