Same here. Embrace it. I have found solace in lifestyle changes, ie, switching from pbr to bourbon, and switching from nose 5's to spread eagle variations. Some people say the spread eagle is making a comeback. But how can it be making a comeback when it's already here?
I skied a lot as a kid in the 70s and 80s, but came late to the park scene at age 36. The learning curve has been long and steep, but every time I land a new trick I feel like a kid again. And I guess that is why I still ski park.
There is a great interview with Forest Bailey in the September issue of Transworld Snowboarding. The guy asked him what he's looking for in snowboarding. He said one of the reasons is it keeps him young. "It's just about trying to stay youthful. Being a kid is being happy, so I think that's a big part of it too. It's the search for eternal youth."
This all sounds well and good, but don't be a pussy just cause you're old and cant do dubs. You gotta step to the random 100'er every once in a while. Just to show the kiddies that you might be old and washed up but your balls are still just as big as ever.
...and gonna add an inch to my tall-t every year because I've earned it..haha..Had to bump this. I got in a fight with my girl about the size of my clothes last night (apparently she thinks I'm too old for a 2x) and all I could think about was this thread. I just kept yelling "what kind of asshole buys pants that actually fit him!?!"
