Uniforms in the 2014 Olympics

I was reading Bishop's thread about style in the Olympics. Big surprise, a few members started arguing about wearing tall tees in the Olympics. Or something like that. Anyway, that got me thinking, won't mostly everyone be wearing uniforms?

Every other ski discipline that I can think of has country suits and uniforms. Most teams at the 2010 snowboard halfpipe certainly had uniforms last Olympics. However, not every country had uniforms. I remember Japan just had the rising sun on their helmets. I'm sure a few other countries also decided to forgo the uniform.

Anyway, I haven't seen anything on uniforms for ski halfpipe or slopestlye in 2014. Has anyone else heard anything of this? Will there be uniforms? Who is making them?

Please, feel free to photoshop absurd/amazing country uniforms and put them in this thread.

Its an article about how the athletes are allowed to display their geir and represent their sponsors. This is pretty fucked up in my opnion. As far as I know right now they are allowed to use the outerwear provided by their sponsors but they must not place stickers on helmets and/or skis and they are not allowed to hold their ski towards the camera. Correct me if Im wrong.
Oh and the German "uniform" is fucking gay!

They look fine man. They're a uniform, for the olympics. They're better than I'd expect. Get over it.


Does anyone else think the olympics is pretty lame? It's cool and all that slope and pipe are finally in there. But, this is just another two comps that are going to be watched by tons presented by McDonalds, Coca-Cola, and Visa.

Yeah but they could have done way better. They could have made a german G-Suit edition like you guys did on the first page or they could have just used this jacket. haha.

These are the german colors. You want style? There it is. You want a vest? This thing has zip off sleves!
The perfect jacket for the Germans! Plus its reppin NS all along.
But Bogner has to put a jacket out that looks like hideable instead.

Free style is moguls and aerials homie. Best believe they have uniforms.

This sport is certainly not called free style.

from what I've heard, H&M (the maker of the swedish team clothes for the opening ceremony and all that stuff) will be making the uniforms for the swedish freeskiers since the freeskiing association doesn't have a clothing sponsor of their own. (which makes sense 'cause all the athletes have individual clothing sponsors outside of the olympics.)

gonna be really interesting to see how the clothes will look. hope the designers have heard of the term "tall fit".

agreed but unfortunately Canadian Freestyle is extremely underfunded and clothing sponsorship has to go to the highest bidder

And to actually comment on the thread, I wouldn't expect much from the uniforms. If there is a bagginess restriction or whatever, then that would force people to be in THAT much more control in the air.

I'm just excited to hear people say "oh so THAT'S what you do." Although I still expect people to say "he didn't do a backflip, lame bro." lol

Rule 40 really peeves me off. They say they are trying to keep the games from being commercialized. But to me it feels like they are trying to keep them all for McDonald's, visa, and coca-cola.

Nope I think it is pretty awesome they are in it... In fact you do too otherwise you wouldn't waste your time making this thread.

When it gets closer to the time of the games I am sure things will be pretty crazy on here in terms of the popularity.

Columiba is the exclusive clothing supplier to Canadian Freestyle. There is nothing that would lead me to believe they would go with anyone else.

At the end of the day we're talking dollars and Columbia has a lot of them.

Pretty much every nz team goes under the all blacks name so I would not expect anything else from the nz freeski team. Prob be one of the best setup's at the games.
