has to aggree with that mASSHOLE. I especially love that feminism got dragged into it, which I think are some of the biggest extremists in the U.S. right now (not all but some). You really see that "us vs them/you're either with us or against us" mentality with the feminism movement. Michelle Bachman is plain fucking nuts so I have nothing to say about her, but hearing what feminists call republican women saying they basically aren't woman is that mob mentality. Just like blacks denouncing Bill Cosby for also having an independent view. It's easier to blame your shortcomings on other people than take responsibility for yourself and unfortunately it seems like these days as racism becomes "more of a problem", people want to take less and less responsibility for their own actions.
I haven't had a raise in two years at my job. Our clients love me, I make half what some of the people I have command over make. I sure wish I was a woman or minority because I'd have all the reason on earth to claim prejudice. But I'm a white male, I have no card to play. shit happens
And the mob mentality comes back to play with racism. A lot of muslims are embarassed by the attacks carried out by others. Back in the middle east, they are afraid to confront those groups--and what are they supposed to do? But they do get a major bad rap around the globe because of it, and it sucks.
As a geologist, I don't remember if I ever believed in god/religion, but one thing is for sure the more you learn about science the less likely you are to believe in religion. We knows that life just simply takes form basically wherever/whenever possible. But what is life? How does it just come to life in a primoridial ooze with electrical currents? Could be a god, science still hasn't proved it. And science is always that--mostly theories.
I just hated hearing people attack fellow geology students about their religious beliefs, basically calling them stupid. I dont condone missionaries spreading the word about their religion to other people who don't care, but you can't deny that a lot of these missionaries do a lot of good deeds for the world at the same time. They live off of very little money, little to no material posessions, to spend their lives overseas in war poverished areas and such using money from the church to rebuild villages, make vital improvements and all.. so what if they spread a little word of god while at it, they're doing more good than the government does. and at least the people in the church give money for exactly that, as opposed to the government who just takes your money and gives it to whoever they feel like whether in the interest of the people or not
fuck that was a book, i'll end there. sorry
