Motorized Longboards

Seeing that thread about motorized bicycles, reminded me that the other day I saw a guy rocking a motorized longboard. I kind of have mixed feelings about them, yeah it makes getting around easier, but at the same time it takes away the whole physical aspect behind it and I don't know that you can do slides with it.

That's actually a really cool idea. Especially if it's uphill from the subway station to the office. No one likes pedaling a bike uphill or pushing a skateboard uphill before work.

It would be cool if the motor could be used to slow you down going down a hill. There are 50 million incredible hills in my town that end in busy intersections.

well there are regenerative brakes so you can slow down and it charges the batteries when you use them

there's an old guy in my parent's neighborhood with one….i tried it out.

it has two "buttons" on the surface of the deck…one in the nose and one in the tail. To go forward you press down on the front button which progressively accelerates faster the harder you push down. The rear button is for the brake.


It's a cool idea, but they are super heavy, and you can REALLY fuck yourself up if you aren't used to it. Pressing the wrong buttons and shit like that lol
