Salt lake city nhl fans?

I'll be spending a year on an exchange program to Salt Lake City and I'm a huge hockey fan, and I was wondering if anyone from the area knows if there are alot of NHL fans in the city and if so is there a following to any of the surrounding cites? (coyotes, Avalanche, etc.)

pittsburgh, Im I huge Penguins fan but i could honestly watch any team play, I just love hockey so thats why I was wondering if there is any dominant support for any NHL team in SLC

It's mostly just transplants from the east. I grew up outside Detroit and been watching the wings play a good portion of my life. I do miss the ability to lace 'em up and hit the rink on the lake everyday afterschool.

There are hockey fans, but there isn't any preference for any regional teams like the Avalanche or Coyotes thats for sure. I love hockey.

Thought there'd be more av's fans here in utah. Hockey is starting to get popular here I think. Like rinks were set up by the city this winter at various parks in PC. It was cool. Well kept, too.

Im not saying I'm not going to be a pens fan by any means at all, It was more or less a question of if I'd be seeing any specific team play Tv wise more than any other. I'm still a huge pens fan and didnt plan on not supporting them, I was just wondering if there was any specific fan base out there

GO TO SOME PICKUP HOCKEY GAMES AT THE COUNTY ICE CENTER IN MURRAY AND MEET SOME GUYS. SOME HIGH LEVEL HOCKEY THERE SOMETIMES, OTHER TIMES ITS HS KIDS.

THE UTAH GRIZZLIES ARE FUN TO WATCH, IDK IF THEY HAVE ANY AFFILIATION THO.

they are affiliated with the Anaheim ducks I believe. they are an ECHL AA team and are also affiliated with the norfork admirals, another minor league team.
