I'm about to get up again tomorrow morning at ~5 to hit the lake and I'm stoked about it. I love the dawn, it's always so cool, calm and quiet. It's easily my favorite time of the day in the summer. You even get to see shit like this:

I'm also trying my damndest to plan a Quabbin Reservoir overnight trip with a group of friends for later in the summer but it's freakin' hard to do when everybody has different schedules. I HAVE to get back there to fish with the Bald Eagles again! The ability to sight fish in 30+ft of water is pretty unique and awesome, and the potential is always there for a record fish.

Other than that its hitting the usual spots for quickies when my schedule and this ridiculous heat allow it.

All I saw was the basic Go-Pro slow mo-s, a hilariously no-reason trap beat and the invisible man.




I don't get those weird hype clips, personally. It's like my least favorite NSer and some random japanese kid got together and couldn't find a hand rail so they made a fishing edit instead.

.frenchydude the fishing was horrible today. sun didnt even show itself till past noon when we were out of the water. nobody else was really having luck, but man I love the congo, saw a 6lb cruiiiisin




It was brutal here too. Went out on a bigger body of water just to stretch the legs on the boat a bit and got seriously hosed. I got one nibble all day. ONE TICK.


I'm going out again Saturday with a friend and I'm saying fuck it and heading to my secret honey hole to go mule hunting. No more Mr. Nice Guy. I am pulling a straight up dumpsterface this weekend and that's that!

2. Huge swimbait bass, but I can def see why you dont like it lol

Haha fair enough, big bass is like racecar- always it's own reason. I just hate it when they meat tease like that and then throw in dubstep etc. then fade out SHOW ME THE FISH DAMMIT!

It's amazing what a good day of fishing will do for you.

My friend who was in my last round of pics was my brother's best friend. It was pretty huge for us to go out and have a big day together, it's been a tough couple weeks and I know we both needed that badly. Also now that he wants nothing to do with his motorcycle, he was desperately in need of a summer hobby. That day set him off on a new course and he's hooked for life.

Also now that he wants nothing to do with his motorcycle, he was desperately in need of a summer hobby. That day set him off on a new course and he's hooked for life.


Its such a great feeling to bring someone out fishing that doesnt do it very often and put them on some fish. I love doing that with some of my friends. Seeing how much fun they are having when they get a big one is way more satisfying than catching one myself.

I have the next 5 fridays off work. At least 2 of those im going to go back up north and chase some giant muskys. The other days im gonna try out some new lakes looking for monster bass and go after my first tiger musky.

1 lake in particular im really excited about. only has 5 parking spots and the boat landing and 98% of the houses on it are recreational boaters and not fishing boats. It has a lot of tigers and I know there are some pigs for bass in there based off info ive been told

Soon though. I'd like to get up to Quabbin again but would have to do it on a weekday, ugh. It's impossible to rent on the weekends- just too many people.

fuuuuck working 40+ hour weeks now. this fuckin sucks.

bass fishin in VA/Maryland all next week, pumped. Want a 6+

I'll only be fishing ponds tho since I'm on vacation

Tomorrow is THE DAY. Packing up the truck tonight with all my gear so I can just get in & go. Getting up at 3:30 to be at the gate by 5 when it opens. I am going to my favorite place in the whole world to fish, and I'm going to absolutely slay it. Solo trip unfortunately, but hey- I will take it.


Nowhere else has fish like Quabbin, and the pond side has never let me down. Very few heavy cover guys out there, mostly video game fishing going on so it really is like a dream come true to get to go there once the cover has thickened.


It will be nice to get out there to clear my head a little. A few Heady Toppers, a few edible goodies and some primo oils/flower to enjoy... It should be quite the day!

Ya bass and there are huge 10+ lb northern in the lake. I wouldnt dare musky fish outta a kayak haha. Fished it once in highschool by carrying on a lil 12 footer on.

Ha i have a new found respect for kayak fishermen. Thats the first time in a long time ive been without a graph and it was difficult haha. Also didnt like the 1 rod thing, im used to 8 + lol. Then there was the problem of me always absolutely ripping my hooksets. First fish i set sideways and came within a inch or 2 of flipping the kayak haha.

But all that aside i had a blast! 10/10 would do again Caught a 3.5lber and was a great excuse to have a couple early morning beers. Which reminds me, trying to pee while in a kayak was terrifying haha.

Good to hear! Yeah definitely had to add rod holders in mine. The smallest amount I'm willing to roll with is 3 and 1 just hurts me inside when I'm trying to work a whole area quickly.

I always land it to piss. No way am I risking rolling the boat for a leak haha too true though- standing to pull a lure out of a tree is always super sketch. Maybe someday I'll get that feelfree lure 11.5 I'm moist for and be able to stand.

The Wildy boats are sick too but when they get that heavy the wheel in the keel that the feelfrees have becomes a really big deal. Also the 11.5 has a rudder option which is HUGE if it's breezy.


The new yaks coming out now with removable trolling motor consoles are insane but I would never spend the $$$ unless I was loaded which I'm not.

Nothing and I mean NOTHING enrages me like thievery. I've had my house broken into and lots of my shit taken over the years. I am insanely proactive when it comes to protecting my shit these days. If I had a nice boat like that I'd put a cable through the drain plug so they'd have to saw the thing in half to take it away and surround it with attack geese with freakin' laser beams, man.



In other "gonna get wet" news, Sunday morning looks to be the day. Might go for a bit of a drive to try out a new place I've been eyeballing for about a year. It's a bitch to get to but I HAVE to do it. it's been nagging me almost nonstop and if there's anyplace secluded enough, large enough and with the right cover and forage for an absolute rhino parade, this is it.

Heading to Quabbin tomorrow at 0-dark-thirty. Man I freakin' love that place. Should be a few tanks cruising around in the cover, it's been cooler this week so I'm hoping they aren't locked in deep holes hiding from the heat.

Well I have no electronics so while I'd love to be able to target them down low that's pretty much impossible to do effectively haha... I have to rely on what I can see or discern from the top 15fow or so.

Yeah they sure can! Pickerel are bad enough, but pike can get HUGE. Bass simply can't get big enough to escape the pike food chain tractor beam. Big pickerel can out-compete bass for forage, but pike can just straight up eat them too so it's a double whammy.

I am going to try to sneak out today even for just an hour if I can manage it. Hoping I can juggle my schedule enough to make it happen.

It is but they are hard to clean. A lot of little bones you have to get out. Thats the main reason a lot of people dont eat em

There isn't a scrap of ice anywhere on the EC, I was on a small pond, just looking to try out that new rig and get some baits wet.

The miss has dams, about 4 "pools" that are driving distance for me, but its still scary to me. So many huge boats and barges, no idea what im doing, and wing dams scare the shit outta me hah. Plus im pretty sure bass are in the backwaters right now and its easy to get lost back there theyre so expansive
