Why are fireworks banned but guns are perfectly fine? Fuck logic

The sole purpose of a firework is for entertainment value, but a guns is made to kill people. Does it really make sense that a machine designed to kill people is going to be allowed when something used for entertainment but could accidentally kill people isn't? My state is fucking retarded

I own many guns, none of which are intended for shooting people. Granted any gun can be used for other purposes than they are intended for, but handguns and assault type rifles usually make me uncomfortable.  I love hunting and it is how i put meat on the table. Most guns that make the news serve no purpose in the hunting(animals) game.

regardless of any type of firearm or fireworks, the most important thing is responsibility. there will always be accidents, but way too many incidents are cause by irresponsible peoples.

Fireworks are legal and regulated via permit. Guns are legal and regulated.

2. fireworks are terribly made and malfunction all the time seriously injuring or killing people while guns are much higher quality
3. fireworks fall to the ground flaming lighting houses and brush on fire possibly with residents inside
4. guns are designed for killing so people are careful with them but fireworks are for entertainment so people don't think of the potential of injury or death

What about my SKS? It looks like a hunting rifle but shoots semi auto.

All guns are capable of killing people. Just because one had a collapsable stock and a pistol grip doesnt make it any more lethal than any other gun.

actually the first gun was made of bamboo by the Chinese and made for blasting bits of whatever the fuck they could fit in the end at their enemies. they were in no way strong enough for breaking walls.

yes but your AR and SKS were created with the intent of killing people not hunting wild game.  That is wonderful that you can kill deer any coyotes with your bushmaster. im guessing you are not eating the coyotes that you shoot and probably not much deer either, and if you are you are wasting meat. .223/7.62x39mm ruins the meat because they are rounds designed to do as much damage as possible(kill people), not keep meat clean, not to mention your sks/ak/mosin rounds(if you are using mil surp, will taint the meat and you are just poisoning yourself). i really hope you are not eating any of that meat. i go hunting and hear all the military folk popping off all sorts of rounds with theirs, that is great for them.  you can kill anything if you throw enough lead at it.   I myself have a mosin nagant, but i only use it at the range. My point was responsibility, and how a firearm is used. for example, a .22 is a rifle, the bullet can travel over a mile, but irresponsible people see them as nothing more than a bb gun.  I grew up in hunter education classes and i think that is an extremely important aspect of owning a firearm. Yes, there will always be crossovers as far as people hunting with assault rifles. people ski hellbents in the park, but that isnt what they were intended for. I live in alaska, i know how people feel about their guns and their rights to bear arms. I feel fortunate to be able to walk into a place like far north tactical and walk out with an AK, SKS, Dragnov, Saiga, or anything else i feel like purchasing.  i also knew quite a few people who would still be around today if they or other people had been more responsible with their firearms. There is not black and white when it comes to this matter.  People will always find a way to kill one another, it is just easier to do with your AR or SKS than a bolt action hunting rifle. I would love to go to the range/hunting with you sometime. so far as you are a responsible firearm owner....

How does the size of the bullet have anything to do it being poisonous? I'm not shooting Deer with Wolf or Bear surplus shit ammo as I dont trust it accuracy wise past 100 yards. I've also never heard anything about "poisonous ammo". You can find quality hunting rounds in any caliber and its just a matter of how well you clean your animal after you shoot it to get the little fragments of the bullet out.

Its worth mentioning that more people are struck by lightning and killed by blunt force objects each year than assault rifles. Handguns are responsible for the vast majority of gun related deaths. And its not "assault hand guns", its all kinds of handguns. They are easy to conceal and are much better suited for killing people then "assault" rifles. Sure they look scary and whatnot but their size (along with any full sized rifle for that matter) just make it so they aren't ideal for killing people in most situations since you cant conceal them.

I love guns and they are fun as hell but it's that very very small majority of people that intend to do harm that can potentially ruin a privilege that the majority of people in the US enjoy responsibly.

I agree with ya, just what is the source of the lightning comment? More people def die from hunting accidents than lighnting. Lighnting is always that cliché statistic that gets brought up to be compared to something that will rarely happen, like winning the lotto.

Its just funny when people try to blame "assault rifles" for causing so many murders when they account for only a very small fraction of gun related deaths each year. Lightning strikes just give a visual statistic. You could say blunt force objects, hunting accidents, whatever. The point was just to show that this big bad nasty "Assault Rifle" doesnt cause nearly as many deaths per year as people seem to believe.

Most states that banned fireworks banned them because they have started so many fires in fire prone areas. It is pretty rare to start a fire with a gun.

I go to a few gun ranges around where I live, and MOST people shooting are veterans shooting their AR-15s or people still in the military... Nowhere did I say they were all giant bad-asses man, no need to try and start shit.

I'm not even gonna bother looking up fire arms. To consider negligent discharges and homicides and robberies, and the many others I'd guess probably a heavy 10,000 people killed by fire arms.

I love my AR and pistols. The rifle is for fun. Pistol is home security. I don't want to ever give them up, But think of a better argument. Fire works and fire arms? C'mon child.
