Anyone ever use a jib in the back of a truck?

I have some sweet ideas for a couple videos coming up and i have seen a lot of low budget driving jib/crane shots that look like they are out the back of a truck. i was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this or made their own jib specifically for it? and if so is there ever problems with vibrations/bumps in the road or do you have to find a smooth one?

I have never used a crane, but what if you just aired down your tires a lot? The only thing is the type of tire/quality of tire might effect it and you would probably want an on board compressor for when you get back on the road.

Ive shot from a tripod in a van quite a few times and my results have been surprisingly smooth. I usually shoot on private drives or parking lots because they are generally smoother and I also try and keep in below 30mph.

As for a jib I have never done so but have seen it done a couple times. I have been surprised by the results I have seen, but have always wonder how they keep the arm from "bouncing" as it moves along...

yeah thats what i was wondering too but i think like you said, just give it a shot and probably will surprise myself with the results
