You go to Celeistic town and once you enter the middle part of the town, and elder will say a spaceman is threatening to blow up to town with a bomb. You go up to him and he will challenge you to a battle. when you defeat him the elder will get the package that Cynthia gave you. Then she will tell you to examine the painting inside. Once you enter the cave and press "A" on the painting, she will come in and say stuff about ancient legend and stuff. Then Cyrus (dude with blue hair) comes in and says a bunch of stuff then challenges you to a battle. If you say yes his Pokemon are:
Sneasel: level 34
Golbat: level 34 also
Murkrow: level 36
Once you defeat him he will make a dark flash and disappear (which is pretty cool). Then the elder with blab and blab about stuff, then she says that her grandaughter doesn't use this item anymore and you can have it. It is (you guessed it) HM 03 surf. Hope I helped.


P.S. When you go outside Cynthia talks to you.

Emerald is a mix of the top best Pokemon games for Gameboy made into the same story line with three legendary Pokemon making the best game in the history of the earth. But I am still extremely interested in hearing what you think is better.

Not being a hipster when I saw this, But 1st and 2nd gen are just the best. I've ayes through most of them and they don't really come close to blue and silver.
Those games just seem more raw

yep. yellow was dope too cuz you could get all three starters without trading. any game involving pokemon with numbers >152 is garbage to me, since i dont know any new gen pokemon other than mudkip (thanks to ns)

2nd gen is just as good. The whole 3 year later thing was really cool. And you get to go back and see what Kanton becomes. It even has glitches

Finally someone who shares my love for Emerald. Got it for christmas and got like 500 hours of gameplay.. Now the game itself physically fell apart.

Silver and gold die quicker because of the internal clock in that game. The battery is not terribly difficult to replace though
