Golf seasons almost here!

What's your set up? Where do you usually golf and do you play competitively or just go out and have a good time with friends?

I play highschool and have callaway razr x irons, a cobra s9? I think driver, an old odyssey putter and callaway 5 and 3 wood.

Why does golf have to be so fucking expensive. Grrr I love it, but I grew out of my set of clubs, and my family got rid of our membership to our local course so no more golf for me.

have gone out about 12 times to my local course so far, averaging about 45 for 9 holes and about 92 for 18. plan on getting my handicap down this summer

i play high school golf, and just play for fun around jersey too, I got scotty cameron putter, 56 titleist vokey with agressive groves, tour edge exotice A through 3, tour edge 3 wood and titleist d1 driver, rep titleit balls and hat too.

Go and find a cheap set of used clubs or if you go to certain shops you will be able to get them really cheap.

Yeah its really not so much the cost of clubs, because I could easily find some pretty cheap, but its the playing cost that gets me.

I said ages ago I'd post pics of my bag, well that never happened. I actually have the pictures now and I'll upload them later tonight when I take a break from studying for cell bio. I have one more change that I'm going to be making to my bag in the driver slot, otherwise it's pretty much set. Shot 2-under my third round of the season, so I'm pretty pumped for the rest of the year. Screw college/bipolar weather making me unable to play every day.

P.S. Whoever has like 2 feet of snow on their course in that picture above. That suuuuuuuuuuucks hahahahahahahaha. You wont be playing for a while.

P.S.S. If anybody wants to know where to find some good deals on used clubs/possible clubs to purchase, shoot me a message. I know a good place where I buy pretty much all of my stuff. My set new would have run probably about 3.5 grand at least, but I got all of it used for total 900-1000. Sooo yeah, let me know.

Every meet/tournament has been cancelled so far due to the snow. I'm supposed to have one next week that's about 2 hours south, hopefully it doesn't get cancelled because it will be my first time to actually be able to play this season.

This year I finally got myself some used clubs on craigslist so I can get into it to play with friends and for professional reasons.

What do you think of the set I got....

Ping S59 Irons 2-9, pitching wedge, sand wedge

Taylor Made R80 driver10.5 degree, 3 and 5 woods

Taylormade B3s Nubbins putter

I got those clubs in excellent condition, a nice golf bag, wood covers, balls, tees, and a gloves for $140.

$140 for all that sounds good. If you can hit them straight every time then you're already ahead of 90% of the people out there. Equipment really doesn't make much of a difference until you can do that.

oh i definitely can't do that. i've played like 6 times total and mostly just to go drink. but this summer I plan to actually learn some technique and try to improve. should be interesting.

Im in Europe somewaht indefinitely. Dissapointed I couldn't fit my golf clubs into my golf bag along with my clothes b/c the girl I skiied with last week took my skis home. Not sure when I'll go home to my beloved clubs. I am missing my new ones dearly I love the set I have compiled so much.

BUT-I really hate golfing around Boston almost as much as I hate skiing in the north east. Those middle aged fucks I get paired with drive me bananas. I can't wait to get back to the Reno/Tahoe area when its time to go to my real home and kick it in the casinos for a few months.

Been out to play quite a bit this season, just got out for a bit today actually. Of the rounds I've actually played seriously, best is 2 under. I just couldn't mess up that day. Schools getting hectic though, my game has been down for the last few weeks, should get back on track once I can practice a bit.

Pretty much changing all of my woods this season, ridiculous. But they will be straight bombers, and good god am I excited. Probably having them refinished to have them all merked.

1337, I had no idea you golfed man! Sick! And whoever is going to Scotland. I dislike you. Strongly. Gotta be absolutely incredible out there....

You may be standing too far away at address with your mid irons, I started pushing everything right when I was playing golf during baseball season because I had slowly moved farther away from the ball.

I had to quit golf. Season is way too short in northern Sweden, and I have like a 3 hour drive to closest course. It took me like 6 summers to get the green card and have an actual hcp. And by then it wasn't fun anymore, I just got mad every time.

Maybe I'll start in a few years, who knows. But right now I definitely don't miss it.

Yeah dude, im so pumped. Were going to London first, then going to Scotland for 5 days, and golfing all 5 of those days.

Im playing on my varsity team, so I get out about 5 days a week. Low score of this year has been a 35 (Even par) on a decent course. I can't wait to finally golf somewhere outside of Michigan.

First 9 of the year. 1 birdie, 1 par and 7 bogies. Pretty consistent on a challenging course. Took my first putt of the year on the first green so that made life a little tougher

Its all about going out and playing with your buds. Not giving two s@3ts and just having a good time.
Hella fun thing to do:
1. put weights on your club when at the range
2. take a good amount of shots as hard as you can
3. take the weights off
4. crush the ball into space

Fucking love golfing. Just go out with the bros probably 15-20 times over the summer and I' decent I guess, but not like I would have made the golf team or anything.

On another note, I think my fucking dick landlord stole my clubs from the garage while we were moving. Had a set of Callaway irons and a Big Bertha driver in a matching bag w/ like 50 balls and tees and glove and everything and its fucking gone. Right when it gets warm enough to go golfing too.

As the other guy said, mizuno irons are far from underrated. Their forgings are regarded as some of the best out there. Their woods on the other hand, very underrated. The Mp650 series that came out last year is absolutely INCREDIBLE if you can hit it well. Relatively unforgiving clubs. I had a 3 wood and hybrid from the series, but I sold the 3 wood as I am moving to something else this season, but my 17* hybrid is still the Mp650. Seriously the best hybrid I have ever hit, and unless my gaps change or it breaks, I dont see it going anywhere for a while.
