My son's a nationally ranked USASA freestyle skier and he's on his 3rd year going to nationals in Copper for SS, first time for halfpipe and rail jam. Age 12 but only 81 lbs. He's destroyed 2 pairs of Armada Coda skis in the past year (ripped edge of first pair and 2nd pair delaminated). Before that he destroyed a pair of K2 Juvy skis and a pair of Atomic skis. He's small but he goes big (60 footers are becoming common for him). I don't think it's the rails that are killing the Armada skis but possibly big landings on icy slopes? He's too damn light for a real adult ski but I'm considering the Salomon threat in a 141 size which might be more durable than all the jr park skis around now. Just don't know if it will be too stiff for his weight. Line Afterbang Shorty is too heavy and more of a jib ski where he's more into big air.
