So last tuesay I overshot a jump by almost everything and got some pretty nasty shin bang and what feels like a small fracture/ nasty bruise on my lower back, kinda on the lower hip area. I'm not concerned about the shinbang but my lower back/ hip is pretty irritating. When I put pressure on it or move around it get's pretty irratated. I've applied ice and heat but nothing seems to be happening. Does anyone know what I'm talking about, especially in that area? I really want to get out in the new snow but the injury is pretty irritating. +K for help

sounds nasty man, very irritating. last week my binding broke and i took a nasty fall, my lower back was pretty bad after that but nothing serious.

if it's as bad as you're describing, though, i would definitely go to a doctor and have it checked. no point skiing on an injury only for it to risk getting worse.

Bruising is a good sign if there are no formations around the bruise. If the pain is local and accute, thats normal. Within 2 weeks, you should be able to get back to routine.
If the pain is more numbing, thats bad. If the pain persists fore more than 5 days, get yourself checked out.

you say it feels like a fracture in your back and your first instinct isn't to go to a doctor, but to post on the internet about it?
