Getting between Chamonix-Verbier-Zermatt by bus/train

I don't want to post this in regionals b/c noone looks at them so sorry.

Hi friends, hopefully some of our Alps based posters can help me out here. I will be going to the Alps in early April. I know that you cannot bring a car to Zermatt. I will be skiing there, Verbier because I have 3 free days from the epic pass, and would like to hit Chamonix as well.

Will we be able to get between the three of those resorts without having a car? Is there a bus or train that runs from Verbier or Zermatt to Chamonix?

I am assuming renting a car would not be smart, is that wrong?

Verbier - Cham (or Aosta valley) would take a long time with buses and trains. First you have to go to Geneva and then down to Cham, instead of just taking a car over St Bernard (mountain pass). Verbier - Chamonix takes about 1 hour with car over St Bernard, Verbier - Geneva-Chamonix with car takes about 3 hours, with bus it probably takes forever.

Zermatt - Verbier is probably pretty easy with trains.

Make a thread on freeride.se (sedish freeski site) and see if someone is driving from Verbier to Chamonix when you're there. Lots of swedes both in Verbier and Chamonix so I don't think there will be any trouble finding someone. I live in Nendaz this winter (also 4 vallés, close to verbier), if we're heading to Chamonix at the same time you are, you could hitch a ride with us.

It's very doable. Swiss public transport is on point. It will take longer than by car but it's not hard.
Cham - Verbier is around 3 hours I think, you have to go back to Martigny but it's not too bad.
Verbier-Zermatt you get the train from martigny to visp, then the train up to Zermatt.

No woorries.

I've had one day with bad snow so far this year (except comps). Snowpack is quite sketchy, a lot of big avalanches, really unstable layers close to the ground.

It's so easy to get to Chamomix from verbier .. Catch the gondola or bus to Le Chable , then a train to martingy then change trains onto the Mt Blanc express cog rail way to Chamonix.3 hours door to door. Easy as fuck .
