Careers with high summer hours and low winter hours?

So I'm trying to form a list of careers/jobs that offer a ton of work in the summer, and less in the winter (so I can ski.) I'm looking to move out West and do this while i'm still young.

I've been reading that the best thing to do if you love skiing, is not work in the ski industry, because the hours of work are usually right when the mountains and resorts are running.

So basically, I am aware that there are a lot of routes that people take to make this way of life a reality. Being a waiter, housekeeper, etc. etc. But I am kind of trying to avoid those jobs because I'm tired of them. I will have a degree at this point.

All I've come up with now is:
-Golf courses
-Landscaping (again, not really a lot of money to be made unless you own the company)
-Vacation resorts that are open spring/summer/fall only

I'm basically lookin for that job that has the opposite schedule of a teacher...

Any ideas?

Land reclamation. It's a job that requires a degree, quite likely a masters. The hours are crazy in the summer because that's when you need to gather data especially in the relatively far north. Then in the winter while your analyzing the data you can take a ton of holidays for skiing. You don't get the entire winter off but you can get a whole lot of skiing done

Find a job as a farm hand on a hay farm, tons of summer hours, and nothing in the winter.

I have become a marine mechanic so skiing can consume my life when winter comes around. My work season is April through December, 3 months on, 1 month off. I live on a ship, so I can base myself anywhere I want.
Its a 4 year course, 50 000+ year and freedom. Although working on the ship is harder than you think. Its like prison.

work on a railway doing track maintenance they'll lay you off in the winter and rehire you in the summer (at-least they do in B.C) plus it pays well

I work as a ski instructor + in a movie theater, mostly weekends only, cuts away the partying tough with +25 hour weekends. I still make about 1000€ a month only working 2 days a week.

that's true. I worked at a country club in the summer and the pro's hours were cut back a whole bunch in the winter... i guess it depends on the club. i agree though, if you get hurt you're kinda F'd. Turf management is pretty solid for just summers though.

I work at a country club all summer hours none in the winter. Plus i make mad money with tips, and not to mention you get alot of connections with rich people olnce you get to know the members,

Graphic design has actually been not too bad... you can do a lot of stuff from home...
and the bike shop is a good idea too.. or getting into the bike industry (I do Graphic Design for a distributor)... people love the outdoors (you will prob get hooked on mtb biking too) and your busiest time is the summer... so its actually better to take time off in the winter...

though the season actually starts earlier then you think... round march / april

White water rafting guide might be a good option, i've also herd that window washers work flexible hours and are payed well enough. Neither a really careers though.

Any type of work that you can accept on commission or work from a computer such as a engineer.

Being skilled in a high demand field means you can work when you want, stop and start when ever you want. I ski with a marine mechanic who does this,
