270's onto flat/down rail help

I can 270 on to boxes no problem (I spin right and grind natural left foot forward) and when I think about doing it onto a rail it seems like it wouldn't be much harder, but when I go to a rail to try it, I sketch out and don't do it.

Any tips for how to do them on flat bars and down bars, or things I can do that will help/practice? Also front and blinde swap tips would be nice too.

Come into the down rail with a pretty steep angle, otherwise it's hard to get on top of the rail. Make sure you pop, and then spin. Keep your head turning and lean forward so when you land you don't slip out.

Keeping your head forward of your body is huge, other wise you'll slip out your slits from underneath you.

hit it as you would just going on regular. dont turn into the rail more to aid the spin because in most cases people jump over the rail and just slide off

make sure you pop first. i couldnt get it for the longest time then someone told me to pop first and bam i could do it. it was kind of amazing

don't try to set the spin too early. you should have popped a ton, and be completely over the rail before you start rotating, so you don't catch tips. also, i like to look down at the rail, that helps too. ghood luck

i have a similar problem man, i can get a 270 on a box no problem but i to get sketched out by rails, its just a commitment thing, just keep trying, u will fall but if u can get on a box then you can get on a rail!!!

There rlly isnt a big difference btwn a box and a rail, just need to make sure u keep weight forward and are stable during your spin. you dont want to slip out so stay centered and if ur spinning onto a down rail, obviously keep some weight on the front foot!

I also spin right and grind left foot forward.

I recommend trying them on a flat rail first, one that is almost ride on. Approach the rail with an aggressive stance, feet spread about shoulder width, so that if you didn't pop or spin at all you'd land with your legs on either side of the rail. When you reach the lip, you first pop, initiate your spin. The critical part for me is to look down. I spot the rail between my legs and can put my feet on it. If you can spot your landing on the rail, you will be far less likely to slide out. Set down your landing gear, and boom, you're sliding unnatural have just 270ed on! Fuck yeah, grease it and afterbang like the baus you are.

If you find you are getting the spin but then quickly falling off the rail try lining up your left ski with the rail, so your right foot is on the right side of the rail kind of. it helps

i spin left but as said previously keep your weight forward; it helped me when i would somewhat keep my left shoulder up a little (granted again, spinning left to go left foot forward after 270 on) so when i landed on the rail it automatically put my weight forward; and just commit. you'll be golden

That is really helpful and makes a ton of sense. Your brain screams foul when you start a rotation and start to pitch forward. Lifting your leading shoulder up a little as you start your spin seems like the ideal way to make it happen. + k for that.

i can never stop when i get on the rail and i dig my toe in. am i spinnign to hard or do i need to dig harder

The problem for me is that I spin left and slide right foot forward, so I either spin wrong or slide wrong.
Practice is the best way
