i dont think i could come up with a list that long of all very good movies for 2000-present. maybe half that long, maybe.
we have had some good movies recently, but less of them. it seems like in the last 10 years movies have become less about a creative form of art and story telling, to pure entertainment money making. there are hardly any creative, fresh, artistic movies that have come out in the last 10 years AND been mainstream.
every action movie now is just CGI, 100 crazy panning shots per minute of everything that could possibly go wrong or explode doing just that. its not even action any more, its using CGI in place of passion and creativity.
comedies now are all about shock humor, which i still like, but movies like the big lebowski, ferris bueler, groundhog day, truman show, princess bride, robin hood men in tights, etc.. seem to have stopped at 2000.
