Question about the legal weed thing and sponsership

so all i know is that its now legal in colorado and I guess a few other places, does that mean you can set up a amsterdam coffee shop style thing, like sell it from a shop front?

If the answers yes, then what are the rules on marketing could skiers/snowboarders (who im going to guess would be a niche group to market to) become sponsored by a particular herb shop? people like t-hall, cassabon those guys already market themselves as stoners/ drug users, so it wouldnt hurt their image.

here in Australia at least you cant have any advertising for tobacco we even have plain packaging laws, but sports teams can be sponsored by beer companies, not individuals at least as far as i know, so i doubt it would be allowed here, even if weed was legal.

should athletes be allowed to be sponsored by weed companies or any company they like for that matter?

dude I think it just just means you're not going to jail for possession. and I dont think there are companies, but dispensaries for medicinal purposes. So no corporate sales, just yet. (not totally sue though)
Maybe you should contact a mexican cartel about sponsorship oppurtunities!

Pretty sure this is incorrect. There already were dispensaries; the latest law change appears to be full(er) legalisation.

im pretty sure theyre going to start regulating the use of it and start taxing/selling it ect. if they do so, id imagine there would be certain brands similar to camel or marlboro for cigarettes, but i doubt theyd be able to advratise it because the public already hinders cigarette advratisments, so weed would naturally be worse. funny thought tho

Not going to happen. Thats just asking for federal attention, and they can and will fuck people over regardless of state laws.

I know I saw something for a cali skater or maybe biker that had a weed sponsor. Also, RAW papers hooks it up in snowboarding especially with GBP.

it is only decriminalized in Colorado right now. Up to an ounce, You can grow it own it display it smoke it but no sales. there has been a task force appointed by the state to research and reccomend how to set up a legal economy by feb 2014. my guess is it'll take a lot longer than that like probably 5 years or more from now before feds give the ok and there are actual stores popping up. Once that happens I don't really think shops will be allowed to sponsor anyone who represents their product to minors. you'll have to be 21 or older to buy it just like booze. plus I don't think big advertising will be needed to generate interest in buying weed legally, there's enough already.
