I think ill try to fuck around in the park as long as possible, and even when im super old ill still probably roll through to see what everyone is up to.

When i'm too old to ski. i'll still go through to see what the kids are up too and maybe do a few straight airs when i'm super old. the wizard tricks may have to stop, but i'll still do mellow stuff until i can't

I saw a couple about 40 year old dads with their kids messing around in the park. They weren't throwing hard, but they were still sliding rails and all that.

There were two 35 year old brothers that ride Alpine Valley, a local hill i used to go to in Michigan. They have real jobs making good money and they would still come tear up the park after work and on the weekends. They are really pretty good considering all things.

I'll be 30 in June. Falling hurts alot more then when I was 15. I also have a job, and cant afford to miss work for prolong periods of time. I still ski park once in a while.

i can see myself being that old guy still riding twins in the future, i can't see myself ever getting anything not in a twin. sure, they'll be stiff all mountain twins, but still

It isnt an age, but a time of life. I could probably still throw some decent tricks, but it isn't worth it. I have a wife and two kids and need mobility for my job. If I break a leg it is like a $12,000 fall.

But with old age comes pow pow...

just checked his facebook page, no pictures of the skis. they're all wood looking. the guy hucks so hard, he broke both his ankles a few years ago off a big jump so now he "plays it safe"

It depends on your luck, dedication and motivation I guess. I'm 25 in a couple of days, I don't ski jumps all that much anymore maybe in the spring. I'm still getting after it trying to ski urban and a lot of rails but I can see/feel my years left for that are limited. I have questionable knees and lots of injuries left over from 10 years of pretty high level skateboarding. I'd expect to be progressing/pushing on rails for another 2-3 years but I imagine the move back to pow riding and skiing less (I do 120+ days a year at the moment) is coming in the next 4-5 years as injuries and real life catch up. I'll still ski and slide some rails for sure but I can't see them being the focus of my life/skiing past 30.

I get sad reading thread like this. I'm skiing park as long as my body lets me, so in the mean time, I'm living up every lap and not taking it for granted.

it all depends on you, i bike with a 52 year old guy. He rips harder, and sends it bigger then mosts kids around here do. He stretches for a solid half hour before he even sits on his bike. No reason why you couldn't hit up the park when you get older, who knows if skiing park will even appeal to you when you start getting older.

32 myself and all grown up and usually drag my 20something friends thru the park on a daily basis. I rarely go out just to ski park but ski park when i'm having fun. Been lucky with no major injuries to speak of and probably more in shape now than i was 10 yrs ago.

I mean u look at pros like Tom is prob 26, TJ and andreas prob 27 and I can't imagine then stopping anytime soon... Risk is relative to ability, there is no limit. I mean Jon stopped at like 29, but easily could've kept going, just had diff goals.

Wise words. I am 27 now and after having hip surgery 2 years ago, I am pretty much done in the park. I simply don't have the flexibility I need to be able to ride park safely. Plus falling like many others have said, is no longer financially or physically worth it for me.

I try and stay active in the scene by filming and cruising around, but I hate being that guy who doesn't hit something, which makes it tough.

Anyways, like Toaster says, enjoy every lap. There is no better feeling in the world than lapping a sick park on a sunny day and stomping new tricks.

true, and andrew reynolds is over 30 and one of the world's best skateboarders but they are freak cases. The reality is most people don't have the luck to make it to that age without an injury that stops them. I would love to be that guy who still crushes urban mid 30s so we'll see, my body doesn't feel like it's gonna make it at the moment though!

I really can't stress this enough. I used to get so fucking frustrated when I couldn't land a trick I was working on and I would spend lap after lap sulking in failure. It wasn't until I went to college and met a friend who has been in a wheelchair that asked me to show him some edits and teach him what freestyle skiing is all about. I went to some of "go to" edits to show him what our sport is all about and he absolutely loved what he saw. He then told me that he always wanted to try skiing but never knew how he could get into it. I told him about sled skiing and how he should give it a try, being that he is pretty athletic, given his circumstance. Something from our conversation stuck with me, though. From that day I began enjoying lapping the park more rather than learning new tricks. It gave me a new appreciation for skiing.

I feel you. Broke my L2, L3, and L4 back in high school. It used to spasm just from walking, but then I started lifting a lot and strengthened it up. Needless to say I've transitioned to more of a big mountain skier. I still fuck around in the park from time to time though.

I'm turning 26 in March. I just got into skiing park last year but I imagine I have at least 5 and hopefully 10 years of progression left.

I've never had a serious injury and know how to take falls pretty well so it's all relative. My body has been kind to me.

If any of you are locals at Mt. Snow you probably know this guy. I was there and talking to him on the lift while he was with his son Nick and he was telling me how he always rides with like Compton, Williams, Talkington, the Logans etc. and they've all been riding together for years. He still hits the Inferno jumps and the pros all coach his son and daughter.
