New binding (FKS,pivots etc ?) need help !

Hey Nser's so im currently riding Marker squirre 11 and they are near dead, Im 5,9ish and 185ish so they hold on pretty good for 2 years but now i need change they are just not good for me anymore.

So i saw alot on people riding the FKS/Pivot or whatever (STH or something?).  Actually i dont know a shit about binding, can someone explain me wath's good on them more then other bindings ? Do they kinda like turn or something when your foot isn't in the binding ,why ? how do you change the brake on them ? etc...
I want to keep these binding for real long (if I like them) so it's a longterm investement so i really want to make a good choice ! Another thing I Would like to know is are they Ligth ? ( i liked my Squirre alot cause of the lightweight)

Soooo wich of these binding should i get and what the difference between them ?

( sorry for bad grammar and bad sentence ;/ I suck at second language)

Fks are really good, but not any better then alot of other bindings out there.

For what you want though there may be better options. For one they heavy. Now having heavy bindings is not to bad. The weight is centered round your boot so you dont notice it too much, but they will reuire you to work a bit harder.

They also are not the most durable. Well the binding its self is pretty good but the brakes are a pain. If you break a brake on most other bindings its a simple and reasonable cheap fix. This is not the case with FKS. The heel piece has to be removed and its not cheap or easy to find brakes.

This is the biggest issue with them in my opinion. They work great but as I said not any better then other bindings, so the brake issue makes them a no for me.

Pivots and FKS and te same binding, Look an Rossignol are under the same company. STHs are a Salomon binding, so people swear by them but the same goes for FKS/Pivots.

FKS/Pivots have a turntable heel and a Hugh elastic travel which makes them less prone to prerelease. The have a great din range and will last a while.

I don't know much about STHs, so I will leave that to someone else.

I own the fks's and can say that they are far and away better bindings than any others I have owned, they are the most durable bindings on the market, the replacing of breaks might be a pain in the ass but the brakes are much more durable than any other companies so you should not worry about that unless you constantly break your breaks, the turntable heal allows you to recover even if your toe-piece is almost ejected but they release if they are supposed to, they also have the most vertical elastic travel of any binding on the market preventing prerelease, if you have any questions about them you can pm me

Then I would recommend a pair of sth 14 with the driver toe piece or tyrolia peak 15s, both are very durable reliable bindings with breaks that are easy to replace, the head mojo 15 is the same as the tyrolia as well as amplid make the same bindings, and the 4frnt deadbolt 15. They are all the exact same binding just with different colors Just to clarify Head mojo 15=tyrolia peak 15=4frnt deadbolt 15= the amplid version that I cannot remember

I swear by look and rossi bindings, but salomon makes an excellent bindings too. I don't think you'll be upset with either choice (shop tech at a mountain)

Looks/FKS are heavier, the weight will only be noticeable when you are carrying your skis. They will have no effect on swing weight because they are so close to the center of the spin.

If you want something lighter try Look PXs/Rossi Axial 2s.

I've used fks and tyroloa peak, both offer same heel retention if I'm correct... Starting to like peaks more, very low mantainence, better breaks, easier to get on/off for hiking etc. really like peak's.
