First of all big ups to Ulrich for letting me use his info to test the game out.
Pros:
I like the Trick Namer. It is something no other game has(Jib Life might but who knows?). It is decently accurate. Along with this is the Trick Grader, which judges how well your trick is done.
The scaling (i.e. character to feature ratio)is more accurate than other games like SS and Jibbin.
The pre-spin function is sweet. Allows for easy 2 on's and nice sets on jumps.
The backflip and frontflip animations are both really sweet, unlike in SS where your character just stays in a boner. The backflip especially because we all like those laid out backies.
The default key layout is cool. You would expect spacebar to be pop, but D,F,G are popping keys. (D and G are pre-spin) It's cool because your fingers are closer to grabs etc.
Cons:
THE PHYSICS - Although the rail game isn't bad, the jumps are absolutely terrible. You have no control of the tricks. I really don't know how to classify the physics. Jibbin used a momentum based, all-axis physics, and SS uses like a "zero gravity", all-axis physics.(Trying my best to describe them) But this, I just don't know what to call it. The arrow keys seem to perform opposite rotations as your axis changes, making things very difficult. /physicsrant
Controls get all flipped when you go sw, and it's just annoying.
Although the falling animations are kind of cool, I get really annoyed that I double- eject and have a season-ender every effing time. Along with this, it's really picky with landings. You gotta be perfect.
The graphics are lacking a bit, but I feel like that will change as it is only in Beta.
Grabs suck.
- Alright, I think that pretty much does it. Over all, I think that the game has potential. Don't buy the Beta because ShredSauce is much better right now. However, I'm going to be looking forward to the full release of this game. I hope this incredibly unorganized review helps.
