Any good how-to videos for learning how to grind on rails? I've only done stuff on boxes or jumps, so I need to learn on rails. If you know any could videos please link them.

I'd love to be nice but honestly it really does boil down to this. They slide just like a box. In your mind a box is less scary though.

Grow some balls and hit it. If you fall hit it again, repeat until you've cleaned said rail.


Also starting with shorter rails is best, less time to lose your balance, less speed you have to carry.

RELAX YOUR SHOULDERS. Seriously, I couldn't do a rail because I was too tense about it. Envision the rail slide, and go up to the rail super relaxed. Once you get up to it, pop like you see the pros do. It really is that simple.

Just went in the back yard to try it out(It's about 3 ft tall shotgun rail). I found it pretty easy, and it wasn't hard at all. Lol, I was able to do 180's off the rail and almost onto by my 5th try.

How much different is the PVC to metal, or is it somewhat the same?

Now I feel kinda pathetic for getting all worked up about it.

180's on and off? Were you doing Ski Slides? Anyways, metal is often faster than pvc, but depending on where you ski, your pvc will be more consistent. For example rails can be poorly waxed. And because of the speed difference, metal will be easier to slide out on, but as long as you're balanced and have bend in your knees you're fine.

Also, can someone show me where to find the names of different grinds; I am so bad at the lingo.

I'm pretty sure you call what I was doing a frontside grind right?

Right now you have squirrel balls. Wana atleast some human balls? Just go up to the rail, jump, turn 90 degrease, land on rail, dont be a pussy, remember you want balls not a pussy. Ski the rail. 630 out. Afterbang. Boom. now you dont have squirrel balls.
