Pant Sizing and Underlayers

Ok, so I have two questions.

1. I have a warm jacket but I also have a lot of big sweaters I would like to wear without the jacket, what is the best material/shirt for warmest under layering? I have heard a silk shirt, but right now I just throw on a ton of sweaters underneath some Helly Hansen long sleeve (thermal? its kind of like under armour)

2. I dont want to have HUGE snow pants but I don't want them slim, so I assume I get a bigger size and suspenders? If so, how big, I'm ~32/32 in jeans, so how big would I want snow pants ? 34, 36 etc..

Thanks, any help is appreciated. ALSO if this isn't a proper thread, or has been posted (searched and couldn't find anything), just let me know and save me the hate, I will just delete it if its not proper.

layer with whatever is comfortable.
pants always go big xl/xxl.

Thermals are pretty warm. Ski pants normally don't come in pant sizes, so I would go with a large or Xl depending on your size

I usually just go pajamas, maybe compression pants. If its cold i use my base layer and eithers pjs or sweats over top

The cheapest ones. Thermals from walmart or somethin..no need to spend alot of money on underarmour shit.

Wool base layers are great. They wick moisture really well and keep you warm. Just don't wear cotton
