Setting my bindings help please!!

So I just got my first pair of skis i have ever owned.. I got K2 Press and some bindings on them for only 300 bucks and it was all new.

My question is do you guys adjust your bindings yourself? or should i take it to a shop to have em adjust it for me cause i have no clue how?

Also how do you do it? if you know of some tutorial thing that helped you please let me know i am willing to learn.



Sorry if there was another post like this. Im not trying to clog up the forums.

and if you guys have the k2 press how well do they run on groomers?

any help is appreciated thanks!!

First off, if you dont know what youre doing take them to a shop so you dont make a mistake and get hurt.
Secondly, what bindings? PX, STH have a screw near the heel track to adjust the BSL and a screw on the toe and heel to adjust the DIN.
DO NOT DO THIS since you dont know what youre doing. It can really ruin your season!

Yes they are good on groomers for what they are.

Alright man thanks for the advice! My friend was telling me i should do it myself but he boards and i wasnt sure if it would be a good idea to try and do it or take it to the shop.

But i will take it to the shop for sure now. im not trying to ruin my season already! hah


My bindings are Rossignol Freeski 110 XL Bindings 2011. Do you know if they are good bindings? (sorry im really new to this whole thing and all i really know about are marker bindings) I want to really try and get into park this season. are they good for park and groomers you think? i dont really do any back country stuff or blacks i hate moguls they annoy the fuck out of me haha.

also where do you think i should mount them? i dont know a lot about what the different mounting spots do like what the difference is. as far as center, back or front?

I shop with torque test the release to make sure they release when you need them to is the biggest reason you should have them do it. Also, if you meant you wanted to mount them, there is a lot that could go wrong there, so yes you are making a GREAT decision to have a shop do it.

As long as you arent a huge person, those bindings will be good for learning park and some groomer runs. That sould be a good setup for you to learn park on.

Mounting points are based on what you are going to ski.
Mostly park = true center (not core center) this will be dead center ski
If you want to do 50% park 50% runs, mount it +3 to +5cm from their line provided their line is a traditional non-park mount. -3 or 4cm from true center will be safest probably. But, I have never ridden presses before so read reviews

Thanks for all your help man i really appreciate it!

Right now it looks like they are mounted towards the rear.

and I want to do prob 50% park and 50% all mountain. so im guessing i should do +3 to +5cm?

if i tell the shop that i want to do 50% park and all mountain will they know where to change the binding adjustment? or do i need to know before going in there?

I have no idea where the line is on Presses to say + from it, but I would suggest -3 or -4 from true center. 2.54cm = 1 inch so think about it like that. True center mount will not be as nimble out of the park. Further back will make park riding a little harder.

Your shop should know if you tell them 50/50 but they also go based off of guidelines set by people who dont ski park and from my experience if its an older tech, they dont know much about park riding so they wont know as well. Just have an idea in mind but talk to the tech and if they suggest -6cm from true center, go with your gut number from research.
