For starters, I'm 6'1, 175 and ski mainly europe, sometimes the rockies. Whilst I see myself as an advanced skier on piste/bumps mild off piste, I'm certainly a novice in the deep and park. I want to concentrate on my park skiing a lot more this season, but I'll be skiing a lot with my novice girlfriend also on the groomers. My plan is to just goof around and play on side hits/jibs and learn some butters etc to entertain me on the groomers.
I'm never going to be hitting 50ft kickers or skiing chest deep (its Europe ffs!) but I do want a one ski quiver so to speak. I ride maybe 20% park 10% off piste and 70% on piste/side piste. In the park I'm mainly only doing straight rails/boxes, nothing too kinked and I only spin 360 max atm (we all gotta learn somewhere right?!)
I'd like something flexible enough to be buttery, stiff enough to hold its own on european ice and wide enough to be rail stable/able to venture in to the light pow.
I'm currently on 07 or 08 Scratch FS WRS 176 which has been an awesome ski, but is maybe a litte too stiff for what I need?
I like the Idea of rockered, but don't know how it will perform for my skiing?
some suggestions I've been given are ARV's, Volkl kink/ledge, chronics, blends, iron maidens and Line TC's.
Can anyone help? I'm really lost and in a rush to get them ordered as I going away week after Xmas!!
Thanks
