First Drop ads can GTFO

The Ad Blocker on my internet browser, after at least two years of being installed and functioning properly on the browser, will now be blocking ads for the previously only allowed site on the plugin's list - Newschoolers.com

This decision came about after I saw the First Drop video ad of the bitch playing with her tits.

I dealt with double pits to chesty. I can deal with the annoying goof ball rapping on the boat. I can deal with the butt ugly, half naked bitches in the side bar ads. The titty ad completely crosses the line.

I have never and nor will I ever spend a single fucking dime on any of First Drop's products or services. Your corporate image absolutely disgusts me. First Drop makes me ashamed to call myself a freestyle skier.

I will not go into a rant about how much I loathe the immature and incapacitated David Lesh and his band of First Drop dipshits. I am equally as disappointed with Newschoolers for allowing such disgusting, low level advertising on their site.

If I want to watch porn, I'll do it by myself with no body else around. I can not take these ads popping up while I'm at college, at work, or sitting at my kitchen counter at home with my younger sister and parents passing by behind where I sit.

No longer can I put up with this bull shit.

Yeah, this ad played on the first skiing video I showed my engineering class on the first day we were given our laptops, after a 10 minute lecture on looking at using our laptops for school appropriate things.

My teacher was thrilled.

WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU ON NS AT SCHOOL? If you know the ads are there, then why are you dumb enough to go? Go on your phone or install ad block or better yet DO SCHOOL WORK. I went to highschool with no internet all day every day, YOU ARE SPOILED.

Also, to people bitching about work, why aren't you doing work? Better yet, why does anyone care? you're an adult, if you're allowed to be on the internet im sure a girl in a bikini isn't going to be a huge deal. If it is a huge deal DONT GO ON NS! jesus, its such a simple solution.

That being said, the ads aren't porn. They're pg-13 at best and that is completely legal. First drop pays money for these ads, NS isn't going to censor to PG rated so you fucks can look at ns for 10 mins at school when you'll just go home later and surf ns for hours.

Most high schools have something called a content-blocker, and if you're caught viewing "inappropriate material," disciplinary action will be taken. And how the fuck does having access to the internet in high school make me spoiled?

And once again, eheath, you're a genius. If I don't want to risk seeing an ad I DIDN'T KNOW EXISTED, I just won't go on NS in school! I only had internet two times in my life in high school, where we were not allowed to do whatever we wanted. Chem lab and in the library, where were suppose to only look up books or internet resources. If you're so scared of an ad, dont go on NS, simple or shit watch on your smart phone, no ads! I'm not ignorant, i've been a high school student, i know how it works. You got in trouble for a bullshit reason, (which honestly i dunno why you didnt minimize or scroll down as soon as you saw it -______- ) and you're trying to blame some one else, classic bullshit spoiled attitude. The world didn't end, get over it. If you wanna bitch at someone, send lesh an email im sure he'll be very sympathetic...

First of all, freeskiing is all about free expression, individuality, and doing whatever the fuck you wanna do.  FD and NS have every right to brand themselves in any way, shape, or form that they want. PERIOD. If that means tits and ass all over this thing...whatever. So chill out OP. Welcome to NS skiing, live and let live.

However, I wouldn't knock someone for looking at NS during work or school. This shit was built on doing what we're not supposed to do and I'd say being on here during school and work hours is in that same category.  All I do is think about snow!  NS helped me get through high school, college, and now the 9-5 grind.

I havent seen the ads, but knowing that those are on here, i will definitely be looking over my shoulder as I click around from page to page.

Calm the fuck down everyone. I thnk some ppl need powder.

I don't think anyone is arguing that it's "wrong" to be on NS at school or work; however, kids shouldn't be upset if they're getting in trouble, because it's their own damn fault for being on NS and getting caught in the first place. Rather than blaming NS, or even First Drop, they should realize that maybe NS is a site they shouldn't visit during the day, knowing that those ads may be present. How hard is it to wait until school is over to go home and use the internet? Like Eheath said, when I was in high school nobody had laptops and smartphones didn't really exist yet, so you sat on your ass, did your work during school hours, and if you were lucky enough to have a class in the computer lab, maybe you could look at some stuff on the internet before you got home. Kids need to stop their bitching about the ads or STAY THE FUCK OFF NEWSCHOOLERS UNTIL THEY GET HOME. God damn.

Im torn. As much as I hate these ads at school, I can deal with it, I simply refresh the page. Simple as that. I understand that NS gets paid for these, and I'd rather have to occasionally refresh the page then pay a monthly membership.

Okay, well I wasn't "caught" using newschoolers during the day, so let me give you guys a better idea of what happened.

In the engineering class that I'm taking, we're given laptops for the year, and before we were given them our teacher gave us a lecture on looking up porn and stuff like that, and he said if he finds out he'll be forced to take a disciplinary action.

SO, we get the laptops, and we have about 10 minutes left in class, and I decided to check newschoolers, I was/am selling a jacket. A couple people asked what site I was on, and I told them it was a skiing site. When I said I ski the park with jumps and rails, a couple classmates wanted to see some footage, so I showed the entire class the video of the day just to show them what I do. The teacher was watching as well. So what ad pops up? FD tits ad. I then got detention, and newschoolers is blocked from our laptops.

When you guys talk about the risk of newschoolers in places such as school and work, I understand where you're coming from. I avoid NSG all together when I'm anywhere but home or on my phone. However, I didn't see the threat in showing a video, because every single ad that I had seen up to that point had been skiing related. I know that it's not actual porn, and that regulating ads may lead to a "whitewashed" site or whatever term Mr. Bishop used, I just have a personal reason to dislike the ads. While they're not breaking any rules, they're still really stupid and don't pertain to skiing at all. I haven't seen that ad since, and FD actually has an ad with skiing in it that's pretty dope.

Newschoolers can do whatever it wants.

That being said, while the OPer may not have stated his opinion in a very articulate way, he is entitled to
his own opinion.
Screaming for him to get the F off newschoolers during school is just plain stupid.

That being said, i dont think  have even been on the forums in the last 4 years, i usually just drop by the
main page to see if anything cool is going on. I don't even ski that much anymore. Those ads led me to here.  I happened to have both those ads pop up at the same time. 
   I felt like i was on Piratebay, i.e.  it made newschoolers feel plain trashy.  Reminds me of any site with those "click on me girl" ads. I guess i was a little taken aback that those kinds of ads were here. Yes, they are all over the internet, but my personal opinion is that any site that has them gives me the feeling that it is about $$ and that is it. Not a positive image of a sites priorities in my mind.
Its not an "edgy" ad, its trashy marketing targeted at a 14 to 18 year old age demographic.

While NS is a hell of a lot bigger than when i was growing up, my personal opinion is that stuff like this
erodes away at any sense of a community left on a site as big as NS is now. (it wasnt exactly small back then)

Not to mention, if i was a kid i would be pissed that i couldnt go on a site due to stuff like this.
and its perfectly valid for them to say so.

pretty sure it's ad impressions. the number of times an ad is loaded. so adblock absolutely kills profit. could be wrong though.

also, while I agree you shouldn't be complaining about the ads if you're on NS somewhere or sometime when you really should have better things to be doing (school, work, etc), you should also be able to brows the video section with your grandma without her being offended by the ads.

FD are the only good ads on ns, they're the only video ads I don't mind, they're always different and entertaining, them driving 100ft smashing up cars etc, also a lot of hilarity, but the smith prospecting idaho ones that are the same every single time, and are fucking shit, is the reason I will never watch that ever.

I'm really starting to think that a lot of peeps on NS didn't finish highschool or something. Freedom isn't doing "whatever the fuck you want", it's "doing whatever the fuck you want" until it fucks with someone else (hence, the law). It's like do what you want on your land, but he you come accross somebody's else land it's his rules (and so on for public property).

Regarding the ads, even though they're dumb as fuck and objectifing women and make freeskiing look a bit more dumb, I don't really mind them. On the other hand, I could understand why someone could be annoyed by them and they ARE free to SAY SO.

I was just explaning freedom, the principles of the law rely on this very conception of freedom (and the philosophically approved one), I was just making a comparison (don't understand where you fished that one...).

What I was refering to is dumbfucks saying freeskiing is about doing what you want. It's true, unless you are fucking up with someone else's freedom. It's just a recurring bullshit I was ranting on.

Doing something others might consider offensive and justify yourself by saying you're free to do whatever the fuck you want is just proof of weak morals (I'd say about 2 on the Kolberg scale...).

As much as these fd ads appeal to a sexually charged, pork anything in sight 16 year old like myself, they are pretty in appropriate. I agree that people should be ok with that kind of display of the human body, but coming from a pretty conservative household it's a little nerve racking having to hide the screen every time some partially clothed lady decides to make her way onto the ad space. I know blah blah blah use ad blocker, but could fd just make maybe less offensive ads? I mean the ones with the women look like they were thrown together with a pretty minute amount of effort, so really how hard could it be.

Actually yes you are correct, and eHeath I'm sorry you're wrong.

Ad Blocker definitely hurts revenue of the site. Page impressions are separate from Ad calls, so when an Ad Blocker is installed, those ads don't get called, and we don't make money.

So if you want to get so angry that you cause maximum harm to Newschoolers, then install an Ad Blocker. That sticks it to me in the deepest and most aggressive form possible.

Your second most effective way to harm those responsible is to never, ever, ever buy FD Wear.

Problem is that neither of these things are happening. For every 1 angry person the numbers show anywhere from about 1,000 - 10,000 people that don't give a flying rats ass.

Its only a vocal minority that is angry. I'm really sorry you're angry too. I'm not trying to offend you, but I will vehemently oppose the idea that we need to create anti non-nudity rules all across the site.

I mean should we have a book burning of any magazine to ever contain a Lange Girl ad?

I'm not just being a jerk here too - this is a serious point. How do you propose we ban this and yet allow all the other freedoms on the site?
