IPhone 5 case for skiers

I'm done. I've been waiting on Lifeproof's 5 case to get in stock, and been running with my phone in a sunglasses soft bag for the past few weeks. Someone dropped it while holding it over the weekend, one close call was enough, I'm done waiting. Lifeproof, you loose.

I need a case thats the best second option. I know its unreasonable, but its got to be smaller than the Otterbox Defender, that thing is just too massive. Any suggestions from fellow skiers for a good case?

Wants, in order:

- Waterproof
- Shock resistant
- Doesnt make me look like I have rectangular genitalia

I don't have one, but have been looking at the Lunatik Taktik. It's a little pricey, but very sick. The outside is full metal and the silencer switch is like a gun safety. Make sure you get the one with gorilla glass or it is not waterproof.

holy fuck. those are expensive. My phone was half the price of one of those new, with no contract, and works perfectly well for everything I need it for. How does one justify buying that? consumerism at its finest I guess

Outdoor technology has a waterproof iPhone case. I don't know if it works with the 5 though....

I definitely wouldn't buy one because of the price, but i figured if he was going to spend 70-90 bucks on a life proof he would consider this. Still a rip off, I agree.

The life proof case has horrible reviews on Bestbuy... Pretty disappointing. I was planning on buying it but I don't wanna take the chance for $80

I have had mine for year and I cannot for the life of me figure out how people could not be happy with this case. It has saved my phone multiple times. At least consider it. It's worth it

I've had a lifeproof case for my iphone 4 and it has kept my phone like new. I've taken it in the pool a few times and never once has it leaked. I also drop my phone a lot and the case has definitely saved it. I would recommend it.

Yeah the best buy reviews give it a 2.6/5. Then again, the iPhone 4/4S only has a 3.6/5 review score.
Personally, I'd rather not risk it for $80.

something that keeps the cold out...if that;s possible. up here in Canada, eh, the lithium ion battery fails under cold conditions (we're talking 0 Celsius/32 Fahrenheit and below) which sucks cause that's literally 4-5 months a year. at the hill, i'll pull my phone out and BAM! it shuts down. makes ya reconsider your purchase and the insistence on lithium ion batteries

My 4s works fine in the cold. I use it skiing in sub zero temps (Fahrenheit) and haven't had a complaint yet.

I haven't had any problems with mine. No screeching noises or vibrations and I have not heard anyone say they've had problems hearing me on the other end. I've had it for a couple weeks now and I'm stoked on it.

Dirt free, dust free. No problems with the screen, only had one issue so far with the speakerphone and accepting a call, a slight adjustment solved this immediately.

either way ive had a lifeproof case since for 1.5 years. Ive had two issues. One was under the warranty period the other was not. Both times i called the warranty dept, i talked to an american and even when it was out of warranty they prioritied me a new case within a few days. super legit customer service dep, case is bomb proof ive launched it across the baseball field to show someone how awesome it is. i work in a bodyshop and drop it on the pavement regularly, get it wet regularly and i have the white one, my hands are always filthy and the case is clean and badass. I highly recommend these cases and they are totally worth every penny

I had the Otterbox Defender for 5 minutes, and brought it back on the count of it not fitting in my pants...ever.

So I went with the Commuter. Less bulk, and it fits in my pants.
However, not waterproof, not sealed shut, And I have no screen protector.
I work at a construction site though, so it's come in handy a few times when it's taken falls.
Plus, it doesn't look like rectangular junk
