Focusing question

This is probably a really dumb question, but is there any way to make most of a shot in focus? Does it have to do with the aperture setting?

Yeah. Big apperture(exc:f11), a big dof. Small apperture(exc: f2.8)=small dof

Also, shorter focal length=deeper depth of field.

So if you want everything in the frame to be in sharp focus, your best bet is to shoot at a wide focal length and small aperture.
