I'm a beginner to intermediate skier wanting a good all around ski that I can use for next two seasons. I do a small amount of day touring but nothing crazy. Wondering what size would be best recommended between 172 and 179. I'm 5'10" 200lbs. These will primarily be used inbounds with occasional forays with buddies outbounds.

Do not get the Flight. You are too heavy for it and will probably break the ski

how often do you ski, do you have any other skis, what mountains do you ski, any backcountry, are you sure you want directional skis?

I get out once or twice a week. No other skis right now, I ski snoqualmie pass, crystal mtn, little BC as yet, but ski from camp Muir on rainier now and then. Not interested in park. Open to twin tip but looking for something that fits my ability and won't cause too much frustration for intermediate ability

are you more focused on pow or everything else (ie groomers, bumps, crud, windbuffed, crusty)

Mostly the other stuff. but if and when the pow hits, I like to partake.

Go with the Prophet 85 or 90. Essentially the same ski as the Flight just with a metal topsheet. Definitely won't hinder your ability, will last you longer and will be better for a guy your size

What length would you suggest?

you'll be fine with the 179cm
it has an early rise tip and tail so it won't be as "hooky" on the snow.

I was going to say the prophet 98 or maybe even the influence 105. they are all essentially the same skis but with different widths and early rise/camber combos. good luck to OP in your search
