Its not even thanksgiving yet, and I've already been bitched out MULTIPLE TIMES by some fucking high-horse vegans who don't approve of my holiday traditions. Well guess what? I know that I'm supporting a non-sustainable industry, I know its not nice to kill animals, I know that vegetables are healthy, but guess what else? I don't give a fuck because my turkey tastes fucking delicious. And your soy based gravy and Tofurkey both make eating dinner remind me of life in a Vietnamese POW camp, not how much I love Indians. And if I invite you to my house for dinner, and I give up watching football to make dinner for your sorry ass because your family hates you and wont let you come home for the holidays,and you show up with your own personal soy turkey because you think you're too goddamn good for my barbaric meat-thrashing, then you can eat it right out of the dog bowl. I'm sure Buck would love to share with you.

I don't care if you get off on saving the world by not eating meat. In fact, I appreciate it because in the long run you're doing me a favor, and it means there's more for me. But please for the love of eating like a human rather than a bird, keep it in your own home, and don't bring it into mine.

I'm a vegetarian and its mainly since I don't like meat. I don't give a fuck about all the other stuff. It is better for the environment though.

Vegans on the other hand, are the worst. But nothings worse than a vegetarian or vegan who bitches at other people about what they eat.

seems like most vegetarians only stopped eating meat so they could tell meat eaters that it is bad for them or cruel. obviously besides the people who can't eat meat or don't like it.
and I'm almost sure that's the reason all vegans are vegans.

this isnt true. while it is totally natural to eat meat, people do it way too much. a human's diet is supposed to be very simliar to a bear's: mostly fruits and veggies, and occasionally a bit of fish or meat, maybe a couple times a month. not two or three times a day. plus the meat industry produces the second highest amount of greenhouses gases second only to transportation (cars, planes, trains). if you really want to reduce your carbon footprint but cant give up your car, giving up red meat is a damn good alternative.

that being said, i fucking love burgers.

it's mindsets like this that ruin the world.

but really meat takes something like 10x the land area for the same amount of nutrition as plants and produces a lot of greenhouse gasses too and does nothing to sequester carbon/produce oxygen and eats a fuck ton of plant matter. so being vegetarian really is much more sustainable.


that being said, meat is fucking delicious and I'd never give it up.

it has been shown vegetarians live longer lives, not eating meat is better for the environment and not eating meat is a hell of a lot cheaper. there are three good arguments.

with that said I love putting animal in my face.

I didn't read the thread and I could be opening a can of shit but here's the thing, I don't eat meat (except fish. I guess it's called being pescetarian) and I don't give a single fuck what you do for thanksgiving, or any other other meal for that matter and would like to get the same courtesy back. Vegans who go on these pretentious rants about why they are better than you will honestly probably be eating meat in a year or two. The only reason they are vegan is so they can be trendy and feel better than you. I hate people like that so much.

I actually love vegetarians. More bloody cow meat for us normal people. Yum. Also, a really fun game is to try to incorporate meat into various dishes and get vegetarians to eat it, then see how much they love the food. "OMG these are the fucking best mashed potatoes I've ever had!" POW! BACON, BITCH.

You do realize beef (within proper consumption) provides you with high levels of nutrients no other food can match? Take a look towards how important protein, zinc, iron, and b-12 are in your diet. As well I'd like to comment on how asinine it is for posters below to mention the 'horrible' beef industry. Working with a banking group for 6+ years of my career I was asked to visit beef, pork and poultry plants we lent to and being there firsthand, rather than watching a peta video, makes a difference.

Vegans are ruining the vegetarian image and I hate it. I heard about this awhile ago and laughed at it.

No one should ever feel like they have the right to force someone's diet choice on somebody else.
I'm pescetarian, and I sure as hell don't tell my friends to follow what I do.
I also don't think I'm saving the world. I feel more people out there feel like opting out on meat for their diet or health reasons.

Reading this thread, I can say that there is a huge misunderstanding on people's diet choice. I'm not in it for the politics, never will be. I chose it because I was simply tired of eating me. I've been doing it for so long now that I have no desire to eat meat anymore, and don't think I will.

And finally, to show the ignorance of people out there, (not so much in this thread), the worst thing I've heard about my diet choice is someone asking me "does it offend you that I'm eating this burger?"

I'm way to lazy to cook meat. Eating vegetarian is so much easier and cheaper. I grew up sorta vegetarian though, so I don't really like steak or ribs. I've eaten one really good steak and one amazing set of ribs in my life, but 99% are just bleh. I really like burgers and have no problem eating meat at restaurants or peoples houses. I just don't cook it or particularly care for hunks of flesh like steak or ham.

the worst is when you have friends over for dinner, and one of them brings a vegan, but that vegan has leather seats in their car. So, you won't eat the cow or have anything to do with it's labours, but you'll take its hide for your goddamn car seats so that you can fart and sit on its very existence?
