my high school ski team hosts a massive one in the high school gym every year. the team makes about $5,000 off it, and since the team members (including me) help organize it, we get first dibs on all the sick deals.

this year my friend found a pair of older 184 sir francis bacons (115mm waist full camber) with rossi axial 120s on them in 9/10 condition for $135.

At ours we had BRAND NEW 2012 Salomon SPK Pro Model boots for $100. I didn't buy them because I got some new FT's for free, but it was a sick deal!

Ski swaps can be good if you know what you're looking for.

I've seen good touring setups(skis, bindings, skins) go for under $400.  Dynafit bindings for less than $150. 

I've picked up old race skis for $20, with minty-fresh 916s on them.

Last friday at the PC ski swap:

Surface one lifes mounted twice with same bindings. bases in great condition with a few minor scratches for 20 bucks!

also 5 nice ogio ski packs for 10 bucks each.

went to this too looking for cheap FKS. it was a complete bust for me. i got in pretty early and saw one pair of fks the whole night. i bought poles for 8 bones instead
